"Carlos! I was just going to call you to ask if - oh, hello." Cecil cut off his greeting as he noticed Ryan and Shane behind Carlos.
"Hi, Cecil. Sorry to come by without warning, you, I just had this idea and needed your help."
Cecil opened the door to his recording studio. "Of course! We can talk now; the weather's going, so we have a few minutes."
"Don't you do the weather? Like, in real-time?" Asked Shane as they all walked through the door.
Cecil just laughed.
"So what do you want my help with?"
"Oh, right! So, I figured that, now that they know about the...kind of stuff that goes on in Night Vale, Shane and Ryan should...have someone with them to help them navigate as they film? So that they don't do anything that they shouldn't, you know."
Cecil nodded, his eyes never leaving Carlos and a soft smile never leaving his face. "That's a great idea. But, did you want me to do it, or..."
"No! No, I know you're busy with the radio, but I was hoping you could give us a sort of list of places that would be...safe."
"Fun too," Ryan interjected, immediately feeling awkward, "I mean, if that's possible."
Cecil turned in his chair and searched around on his desk for a piece of paper and a pen. Finding one, he turned back to the group.
"Ok," He started, "Where to begin... What sorts of places are you guys looking for?"
"Basically anything that's unusual or strange," Ryan offered.
"Or, keeping with what we usually end up doing, some woods where people claim to have seen things. Or aliens, those would be par for the course."
"In that case, the Arby's might be a good place to start." Carlos offered. Cecil looked up from his paper at him, and they just smiled at each other.
Cecil finally looked back down. "Yeah, the floating lights should be safe. And if you're looking for woods, the Whispering Forest is a good place to look at. From a safe distance. Maybe with earplugs in, though I'm not sure that'll help."
"What...?"
"I'll explain later," Carlos promised the confused Ryan and Shane. Addressing Cecil, he added, "What about the House That Doesn't Exist?"
Cecil considered. "Yeah, I don't see why not." He quickly wrote it down. "And maybe they could go talk to Old Woman Josie and her not-angel friends."
Carlos nodded, Cecil wrote, and Ryan and Shane stared at each other with expressions detailing emotions beyond confusion.
After a moment, Carlos spoke again. "Is there anything else? I can't think of anything that isn't so...blatantly abnormal."
"Well, normality is subjective." Carlos argued. "Sure, this stuff might not happen anywhere else that we know of, but here it is perfectly normal. Or maybe the rest of the world is the abnormality here! You-"
"Cecil?" Carlos placed a hand on Cecil's knee, stopping him from his rant.
"Sorry. Oh! I know!" Cecil turned back to Shane and Ryan. "You guys said you look for ghosts, right?"
"Yeah..."
"Then I know just the place."
"Where?" Even Carlos didn't seem to know what Cecil was talking about.
"I think you guys should meet a woman named Lucia Tereschenko."
