The 'On Air' sign flashed off. After a few seconds, the door opened and a man stepped out. He was kind of tall; not as tall as Shane, but definitely taller than Ryan. He had messy, dirty blond hair, and a casual but professional look and demeanor.
As the man shut the door behind him, Ryan and Shane stood up. They'd been sitting in the lobby for a minute or so, waiting for the broadcast to finish. The man turned and took a few steps down the short hallway, but stopped when he saw Ryan and Shane. He looked at them oddly, for a brief moment, but then his smile returned.
"Cecil Palmer?" Ryan asked.
The man - Cecil - nodded, shaking Ryan's offered hand.
"I'm Shane," Shane said, also shaking Cecil's hand, "And this is Ryan. We were wondering if we could ask you some questions?"
"Sure." Cecil said, looking down at his watch. "I can give you an hour." He looked up and laughed. "Well, not give you an hour, of course. Time Exchange has been declared illegal, after all."
Ryan glanced at Shane, who just shrugged. They needed something for the video, of course, but Ryan wasn't sure how much sense they'd get out of this guy.
Shane, meanwhile, didn't seem to have any reservations, and asked Cecil where they could sit and talk.
"We can just step back in the studio, no one else uses it."
Ryan glanced around, looking for other studios. "Are there any other studios...?"
Cecil just laughed and led them back into the studio. They passed the bathrooms, and Shane could have sworn he heard a meow coming from the men's. He thought about mentioning it to Ryan, but decided that he'd just heard someone in there - a human someone - make some noise that sounded like a cat.
After all, why would there be a cat in the bathroom?
