It was the next morning and we were setting off from the hobbits house.

They all went to get their ponies ready when Bofur asked me, "What are you going to do, walk?"

I just chuckled and said, "No, just watch." They all looked at me confused. But Gandalf just looked amused. I let out a five-note whistle, and not even a couple of seconds later, there stood my horse. Her coat could challenge the midnight sky it's self while her eyes were a deep chocolate, brown.

"This is my horse, Midnight." Most of the dwarves looked at her in awe. (Dwalin and Thorin had a look that said, I don't care.)

"Now who wants to make a bet? I bet 20 coins that Bilbo will show up."

"I'll take you up on that and raise you 50 coins that he will not show." Challenged Dwalin.

"Deal" we shook hands

"Let's move!" Thorin shouted

As we were riding out of the shire I rode up to Fili and Kili and slowed down to a trot.

"Thorin seems overly strict, it'll probably suck all the fun out of this journey." I mused.

"He is strict," Fili agrees "But it's because he cares, his home was taken, and we've never gotten to see it."

"That's a shame, Erebor is beautiful," I say. " I traveled there during Thror's rule."

Fili and Kili stared at me in shock. "You have?!" They say at the same time.

"Yup," I say popping the p. Just then my ears picked up footsteps coming our way.

"Wait, Wait!" Bilbo cries running after the group. The group stops their ponies and horses. Bilbo hands the contract to Balin. "I signed it!"

"For a hobbit, he sure can move," I commented. I heard Fili and Kili laugh quietly next to me.

Balin looks at it closely with his pocket-glasses. "Everything appears to be in order. Welcome, Master Baggins, to the company of Thorin Oakensheild."

Many cheer but Thorin looks none too impressed. "Give him a pony." He orders.

"No, no, no, no, that-that won't be necessary, thank you, I-I'm sure I can keep up on foot. I-I-I've done my fair share of walking holidays, you know. I even get as far as Frogmorton once- AAGH!" His words were cut short by Fili and Kili hoisting him up onto a pony from behind. I could see he looked terrified to be on the creature. But.....I couldn't help but laugh quietly.

Soon the dwarves were throwing bags of money to the other dwarves. I smirked when Dwalin threw a bag of money at me. He looked quite mad, which I found quite funny.

"What's that about?" Bilbo asked confused

"Oh, we took wagers on whether or not you'd turn up. Most of them bet you wouldn't." I said trotting up beside him.

"What did you two think?" he questions.

I simply jiggle the bag in my hand. Gandalf catches a bag of coins and slides it into his bag. "My dear fellow, I never doubted you for a second."

Bilbo begins to sneeze loudly. "Ohh, all this horsehair, I'm having a reaction." He complains. He then begins to search his pockets. "No, no, wait, wait, stop! Stop! We have to turn around." He cries.

All of the company halts to see what the matter was. "What on earth is the matter?" Asks Gandalf.

"I forgot my handkerchief."

Bofur tears a part of his clothing off and tosses it to Bilbo. "Here, use this." The hobbit catches the rag with a disgusted look. The dwarves laugh.

"Move on." Thorin orders. Then we begin traveling again.
