Chapter 14

As I fall to my death all I can think about is how to not die, and to get back up there and finish what I started. Then I realize I can use the wind to communicate! I call the eagles hoping that they would get her in time to help the others.

Even though it was probably only a few seconds it felt like forever. I kept waiting for the ground to come and snap my neck. But it never did, instead, I hit something with feathers! The eagles, that was quicker than I thought it would be. "Gandalf probably called for them ahead of time!' I realized. That wizard sure is something else.

I turned around on the bird, riding it like a horse and tugged on its feathers, making it fly upwards.

3rd person

The company watched as Evelyn was thrown off the cliff. Everyone was in shock but the first to react was Fili and Kili. They had felt a rage that they never felt before. Someone they haven't known for too long but cared about deeply was gone. Just. Like. That.

They had let out a fierce battle cry, and charged. The rest of the company soon joined them with there own battle cries. The entire company was slashing at wargs and orcs left and right.

Then all of a sudden there was a giant gust of air blown over the battlefield. A giant pair of wings and a flash of red hair came into view, and they all immediately knew who it was.

Evelyn's P.O.V

The eagle slams down on the ground causing it to rumble. I sit up straight and stare straight at a shocked Azog, dead in the eye.

"Surprised to see me, well so am I." I snarled. I look over to see a wide-eyed company. Then all at once they let out a loud cheer and pump their fist in the air. "Get em!!!" I shout. They all turn and start fighting once more.

I was surrounded by four orcs. I sheathed my sword and stood calmly. They start to advance on me slowly and cautiously. Then I shoot out my hand at one orc and a bubble of water surrounds his head. I set two others on fire, and they run around screaming like maniacs to, "get it off!"

'Idiots.' I think to myself. The other runs at me and I take out my dagger, black flip over him and slice his head off. then I kick his body away from me and start to fight the others.

I hear the other eagles, and I look to see them picking up wargs and throwing them off the edge. "Boys, don't fight the eagles! They're here to help us!" I shout to the rest of the company.

I get on the eagle again and take off with the rest of the company. I fly behind the eagle that is carrying Thorin. "Thorin, please be okay," I whispered to myself.

We approach a rock shaped like a bear. The Carrock.

The eagles drop us off, I leap off mine and run over to where Thorin lay.

"Thorin! Thorin!" Gandalf says. He doesn't respond making my heart drop to my stomach. I hear Gandalf whisper a spell, then a gasp from Thorin.

"The Hafling? Evelyn?" He asks weakly.

"It's all right. Bilbo is here. He's quite safe. As is Evie." Gandalf answers. Dwalin and Kili help Thorin up but he shrugs them off. He storms over to Bilbo.

"You! What were you doing? You nearly got yourself killed! Did I not say that you would be a burden? That you would not survive in the wild and that you had no place among us?" Thorin snaps. Bilbo looked frightened. I watched as Thorin did something that surprised us all. He hugged Bilbo. "I've never been so wrong in my life. I am so sorry I ever doubted you." Thorin pulls away and puts a hand on Bilbo's shoulder.

"No, I would have doubted me too. I'm no hero or warrior...not even a burglar." Bilbo says.

"Where is Evelyn?" Thorin asked.

The company stands aside as they all turn to face me. I look up at Thorin all for him to grab my chin and softly kiss my lips. He pulls away slightly, but I quickly grab the back of his head and kiss him again. It felt like forever, when it was only a few seconds. It felt like the most magical thing in life.

We pulled apart at the sound of the company's cheering. I flushed a deep red. A chuckle escaped from Thorin. "I've wanted to do that for a while now," he said smiling widely.

I laughed and looked up at him, "Me too."

Bilbo walked over to us and turned to me. "I haven't really gotten a chance to say it, but I'm happy your here with us." I smiled and pat his shoulder.

"So am I, my freind, so am I"

"Lass are you forgetting something?" Dwalin asked holding up his slightly burnt hand with a smirk.

"Oops, sorry Dwalin," I say walking over to him. I hold his hand in mine while digging through my trouser pockets to find a bottle of ointment. I didn't know it was still intact but whatever. "I carry this around just in case something like this happens" I explain to the dwarves as they give me odd looks.

I rub some on his hand and it heals immediately. "Thanks lassie" Dwalin says.

"Your welcome."

I turn around to get ambushed by two figures. One blond and the other brunette. I laugh and hug them back. "We thought we lost you," they say at the same time.

"Oh, boys. I'll never leave, not if I have a say in it." We all laugh and they hug me tighter before letting go.

I smile and look around at the little family we made on this journey. I hear a screech and look towards it. "Thorin" He turns his head to look where I'm looking.

"Is that what I think it is?" Bilbo asks. Thorin walks up to me, and puts a gentle hand on my waist.

"Erebor-The Lonely Mountain. The lat of the great dwarf kingdoms of Middle-Earth.

"Our home," Thorin says.

A raven! The birds are returning to the mountain." Ori says as a bird chirps.

"That, my dear Ori, is a thrush," I said.

"But we'll take it as a good sign. A good omen." Thorin says, his hand tightening on my waist.

"You're right. I do believe the worst is behind us." Bilbo said.

But little did we know, that our adventure had just started, and the worst has yet to come.

A/N - alright everyone, the first movie is finished!!!! Yay!!! Thank y'all for giving me support, it really helped me. For a while I thought about deleting, but then I saw that some people actually enjoyed it, and that encouraged me to keep writing and here we are.
