- Anna's POV

My eyes weren't betraying me... Dylan lay lifeless on the hospital bed with a bad bruise on his forehead. The doctors say he has a concussion and we don't know when he'll wake. His stomach part of his body was wrapped over and over again. I almost started counting how many times. The lights were dim and the room was cold. Maybe that was more me than anything...

The door creaks open and my head snaps in the direction. "Hey," Hunter greets me softly.

"Hi," I say back.  I wrap myself tighter in the blanket that Dylan and I purchased on our first year anniversary. It still smells like him. Right now I wish I could hear his chastising voice at Sara. My eyes find Hunter only to realize he's been looking at me this entire time.

"He's going to be okay," Hunter reassures me.

I ignore his words, not wanting to hear the same thing the doctors have been saying. If he was okay when will he wake? Why hasn't his wounds healed yet? So many questions swarm my brain and I did my best every day to push them out.

"Is she awake?" My concerns were for Sara. That girl was tough, I'm not going to lie. But those wounds worried everyone, especially Hunter. He hasn't slept nor has he eaten an actual full meal. Underneath his eyes grew darker by the day. It's like he was hoping she'd wake at any moment now.

Hunter just closes his eyes and his head hangs low. With all the books we could read about Sara and the white wolf legends, we didn't know if alpha's blood would actually work. We didn't know if Sara would heal better than regular wolves or if she'd survive at all... Hunter donated his blood for the past two days but the doctors say there's no difference. We were all a mess.

"You should eat," I mumble towards Hunter. His head comes back up and gives me a look I couldn't figure out. "Sara would force you to," I turn away from his gaze and focus back on Dylan.

"Not until that bastard is dead," Hunter's voice was low and deep. Electricity shoots through my body hearing his voice so... murderous.

Trey has been the least of my worries the past two days. Seeing as how he retreated so quickly once Hunter's men joined the scene. What a bitch. The room is silent once again, both of us lost in our own thoughts. The stench of the hospital slowly grew on me, not really bothering me the first time it did. When it's a bunch of wolves injured under one building, it leaves a smell.

"Baby.." I hear the smallest whisper and I'm instantly at Dylan's side.

"Dylan?" I ask with tears forming in my eyes. My hand intertwines with his as I give him reassuring squeezes to let him know I was here. I was here and I wouldn't let go.

He groans in response but doesn't say anything else. Wake up dammit!

And then... his eyes flutter open. Soon after he closes them again and I advise Hunter to dim the lights. Dylan's soft brown eyes find mine and the biggest smile erupts on my face. "You had me worried there," I manage to cry out. I didn't realize the tears on my cheeks until Dylan wipes them away.

"You can't get rid of me that easily," Dylan's lazy smile brings butterflies to my stomach. And then the thought brings me back to reality and I cry even harder.

I hug Dylan close to me, feeling relief of his arms around me. All I've wanted for the past two days was him hugging me close but now that I have it, I realize I can't fill the void that has left me. "What's wrong?" Dylan whispers into my ear, knowing that I wasn't crying because he woke up.

"I'm going to check on Sara... I'm sorry for your loss," I hear Hunter's voice followed by the door closing.

Hunter's POV  -

My head hung low as I trudge through the hospital hallways. When was the last time I felt like this? When my parents died?

I laugh to myself. Although I grieved over my parents, it's not like losing my soulmate. It couldn't compare. I'm not saying that my parents death were less... hurtful in a way. They're both so different. Why was I thinking about my parents? Am I going crazy?

A person bumps into my shoulder and I turn around quickly, ready to tell them off. My fists relax when I realize it was just one of my men's son. He look like he was about to shit himself but as soon as I gave him a small smile, he returns it before running off. I take a deep breath to calm my nerves.

How did she make me feel like this? It just wasn't normal. Even with all the mate shit that came with it... I .. I love her.

Realization seeps within me and I run over to Sara's room fast. I needed to let her know that I love her. She needs to come back to me or else.. I didn't want to think about or else. I need her to be alive. Running on low energy was the dumbest idea I've ever had. I reach her door in under a minute and hastily open it.

Her eyes find mine instantly and I let out the breath I was holding. She looks so innocent and confused. The wrap on her neck and shoulder was replaced with new ones so it wasn't filled with blood. Soft brown waves fall down her face. All I could think about was scooping her up in my arms and running away forever.

"Hi," she says softly but she looked like she was about to cry and I wanted to hurt everyone and everything that dare make her feel this way. Studying her face longer, I could tell it was relief that I was okay.

I slowly walk towards her and sat myself down on her bed. Her little hands find mine and wraps her fingers around mine. The feeling affected me in more ways than one but I never wanted her to see that... until now. So I tell her.

"I fucking love you," I breathe out.
