Making Moves

Throughout the next couple of days, Luke came to visit more often. I found out that he was like a dad figure for Hunter but for everyone as well. He was highly respected and no one ever dared to question his words.

We all sat in the conference room, provided by the many rooms of this pack house. I recognized Louis and Nathan had join. Apparently, they were the strongest warriors in this pack. When the war strikes, they'd be at the front lines. I try not to think about  casualties this war would bring upon but I was told not to intervene.

The seriousness in the room suffocates me in a bad way. This was all happening because of me and there wasn't even anything I could do to help. I just had to sit here and watch as countless people sacrifice themselves for me.

"We're not sure what Trey is up to, he's been keeping a low profile ever since you stumbled onto my pack. We know that he wants Sara so negotiation is out of the table," Hunter speaks from the one end of the table. Everyone pays attention to him like he's the most important figure in the world. I smile smugly to myself knowing that that was my man.

I break the rule of not speaking and decided to open my big mouth, "Why can't we negotiate?"

Hunter snaps his neck towards me and gives me a glare. "Because he wants to use you," Hunter states in a duh tone.

"So what's our course of action then? Wait for him to come?" If that was Hunter's grand plan, I take that comment back about how that's my man.

"That's the best plan we've got," Hunter turns back around, ready to ignore me again.

I decide that that wasn't how things work around here. I stand up next to him and face the group of people that surround the room. "I'm not going to be a sitting duck," my hands slam on the table and I eye each individual. The response was more to Hunter but I didn't want to face him at the moment.

"You're not a sitting duck, you'll be a safe one, away from here whenever this goes down," His tone sends warning signals to tell me to shut it.

"Away from here? What? I'm going on vacation while everyone, including my brother stays here to get killed?" I complain once more, not caring if it was riling up Hunter.

"You don't have a say in this!" Hunter yells, causing everyone to look away. "We made an agreement that you wouldn't do anything stupid," Hunter looks down at me. Although he tried to look intimidating, I could see right through it.

"I don't?" I raise an eyebrow at him and cross my arms over my chest. I challenge him to go further.

Before Hunter could speak up, Luke chimes in. "Let's not get carried away guys. Until we know what Trey exactly wants to do with Sara, there's no plan here."

I look back and forth between Luke and Hunter but Hunter keeps his eyes trained on me. I glare back at him and wait for him to reply.

"You are not going to be joining in any fight and you are going to stay here," Hunter says softly yet everyone still heard.

"Why do you treat me like a prisoner?" I counter back. He was surprised by my questions as he takes a step back.

"You're not a prisoner, you're my mate," Hunter says shocked.

"Exactly. And I'm the Luna of this pack and I have a say in what goes especially when it comes to the people who are sacrificing themselves for me," My voice doesn't waver although I could feel the frustration getting to me.

Hunter snorts and shakes his head. "You didn't even want to be Luna a few days ago and now you're going to use that?" Hunter raises an eyebrow at me.

I try to hide the pang of hurt in my heart but everyone could see that it got to me. Hunter doesn't stop there, "Do you not understand that you just found out literally a few days ago about everything and you think that you can just come here and start barking orders?" Hunter asks condescendingly.

Anger finds it's way back into my emotions and I yell, "If everyone is sacrificing themselves for me then yes! I'm going to come in here and start barking orders. I'm not going to let you and my brother and everyone else here get yourselves hurt all because I was stupidly born!" My yelling quiets the room down and everyone looks at me with sympathy. My chest heaves up and down as I try to slow my heart beat down.

"Everyone here has a reason why they hate Trey. You don't know the damage he has done trying to find you throughout the years. He's killed multiple innocent people just like you and I'll be damned if I listen to a word you say about taking this lightly," Hunter spits out.

I look over to Luke but I could tell by the look in his eye that he agrees with Hunter. I was just another innocent body thrown in the mix of things. How could I be so conceited? I bite my bottom lip and look around one last time. "I don't want you guys to die," My last efforts to convince Hunter that waiting around was a bad idea.

"What else do you suggest we do?" Hunter nastily says. I know he was only angry at the fact that I wanted to do more but he didn't want me in danger either. I wanted to say I agree but I know it wouldn't go anywhere at this point. What we need was a solid plan.

"Trey hasn't tried to contact us yet so why don't we try to contact him? He hasn't made a move yet so maybe-" Hunter cuts me off with a wave of his hand.

"I promise that we can take it from here. I just want you to be safe, will you please just go back upstairs and I'll meet you in a second?" Hunter cups my face with both hands as he looks at me with sincerity in his eyes.

I scoff in his face. "You mean go back to being your prisoner?" I raise an eyebrow at him.

"You know that's not how it is," Hunter tries to assure me but I push his hands away and leave the room. I slam the door on my way out and go upstairs to sulk. I really was a prisoner..

Just then, Anna slips in through my door and sits on the bed with me. She rubs my hair and waits for me to talk. "I just can't believe he's treating me like a prisoner! How dare him!" I yell louder, knowing that they could hear me downstairs.

"If it was me, what would you do?" Anna pipes up.

I turn to face her with a questioning look. She answers, "If I was the one being chased by a big bad alpha, what would you make me do?" Anna waits for my answer but studies my face.

I purse my lips from side to side before sighing and rolling my eyes. I flop back down on the bed and look at the ceiling. This was so stupid. I knew where she was going with this and I already had my answer.

"I'm assuming that you'd probably lock me away where no one was able to find me and fight off every enemy that came my way. Right?" Anna's face comes into my view as she looks down on me. I push her off me and get up into a sitting position again.

"I hate it when you're fucking right," I swear under my breath, getting frustrated at everything going on.

"Well I am sitting on your right so it was destiny," Anna playfully jokes as a laugh escapes my lips.

"Can we just chill and catch up?" I ask, not really ready to face Hunter or anyone else down there.

"Girl, I got you. Wanna binge watch Twilight?" Anna excitedly suggests.

"Hell yes!" I yell and get comfortable on the bed.

The rest of the night, Anna and I cried, laughed, and booed at the TV. The movies last for a while. It wasn't until the last movie that we had both fallen asleep.
