Blue Ravens

There I saw it again! A wolf. My eyes widened and my heart started beating faster. I saw a wolf. It was running like the wind. Faster than I've ever seen any wolf run before. I couldn't wait to get settled down. I want to run in the forests and run till my muscles ache. I want to run like the wind, I want to shift.

That's when everything came crashing down. The car suddenly flipped and I don't know how many times. I felt my stomach get caught in my throat as my head  swung in every direction. My seat belt clung to me and every time I moved forward, it pushed me back. Everything around me seemed to go in slow motion. My parents in the front seat, my brother next to me. This isn't suppose to happen. I wasn't able to cry, I wasn't able to yell. Everything was stuck in my throat and the blood rushed to my head as we lay upside down.

'BEEP BEEP BEEP' My alarm was ringing.

"Ugh!" I took out the plugin and went under my blankets. I did not want to go to school anymore. This was bull.

"Get up sleepy head!" My brother yelled through the door.

"Shut up!" I yelled back.

 Ugh, why do I even have to go? I know I chose this life but still, I didn't have to go. I didn't have to fit in and be that normal. I wasn't normal. Everything about me was fake to everybody else. The only real thing about me is my name Sara. I live with my brother and only him ever since the....

My mom was fully human but our father wasn't. We were on our way home when it had all happened. The police got there before our pack did. My brother  says they wouldn't have been able to intervene and take us in. So it was from home to home. These people barely knew us. All they know is that our mom ran out to go live with a man she 'barely knew.' Little do they know that was her mate for life. Anyways, we jumped around homes a lot. At some points we were in foster care. It wasn't until my brother turned 18 a year ago where he had really stepped it up. He got us our own place to be free in. 

If it weren't for Dylan, I'd be a fucking mess right now. Our family still held grudges against us but some of them pity us as well. Some were a bit more cruel and they'd tell us that it was coming to them. That was when I used to get in fights. We didn't know much about our dad's side either. We had an uncle but I believe he died. No one has tried to contact us so it was just up to my mom's side.

 It's been months since I've shifted, my wolf was dying to come out but we both knew that if I shifted, we'd be in a heap of trouble. Dylan has been protective of me since our parents died, he never left my side and I never left his. I'm glad he's going to college and has a job. He also found his mate! But I never looked too into that. She lived with us but we hardly talk. It's not that I don't like her, it's just weird. I never got the whole mate thing.

I never learned anything about wolves. I've only learned that wolves get mates, there is an Alpha, a Beta, Rogues, packs, etc. Practically, I knew about the basics, nothing more. I tried asking before but my brother would shut me down. My parents thought that it was best for us to live in the human world. It's a whole different environment, let me tell you that.

The only thing is though, I want to shift so badly.

"Good morning Sara." Lilly greeted me with a smile as I came down the stairs. Her smile to me was a little sickening. She was always so happy. Who the hell is happy all the time?

"Morning." I told her and walked to the fridge.

"Hey Sara." My brother passing me to go and kiss Lilly.

"Lilly" He smiled and kissed her. She kissed back and before they got too far, I cut in.

"Ew! No PDA please!" I yelled while covering my eyes.
