Are Your Really...?

In bed that night, Helen asked me "Are you really going to take Angel up on her offer? You don't get enough sex already?"

Helen is teasing me about that offer, but I treated it as a serious question. "No. As far as I know, Angel is not on my list, and also, it's not just an inverted power relationship, it's a sexual partner and preferences issue. Math is also a problem: Every time we add someone to us, we increase the relationships in a non-linear way. When we were a triad, we were in seven relationships. Now it's what... Fourteen? Don't get me wrong, I love Angel, and I am sure I could be in love with her, but No."

Jessica looked mischievous "We should put her on his list. Just to fuck with him."

Morgan went a different way. "If we found a man we all could love, we would need a straight man because otherwise, we need two bisexual men at the same time in order for their bisexuality to be operationally effective. One bisexual man is the same as one heterosexual man when you take into account all of our preferences. Like Lori and Danny are: Lori has her man, but not a woman, in her current relationship. A bisexual man would want to have a man on the side sometimes. Not that side relationships are a show stopper."

"Good point." I said. "A bisexual woman could get her some Helen and some me in theory, but a bisexual man is operationally a hetero man with us because I am not an advanced enough life form yet."

That particular phrasing caught Jessica's ear. "You think bisexuality is more advanced than heterosexuality?"

"I always wanted to be Bi. I never could be. So far, anyway." I told her. "So, yes. For me, it's aspirational, but I cannot see it. Yet."

"So: Helen is the most advanced sexual being in our marriage?" Jessica continued probing.

"In a manner of thinking, yes. I envy her and Lori. I envy you because you have learned how to be with Helen. I would love for sex to just be about the person and not the gender they are. I so far cannot make my head work that way. For me, it's a goal. Maybe a few centuries from now, I will be able to get there. It took you time, and I am in no hurry. It is not like I am not enjoying my hetero life. In Angel's case, since this started with her, I think she would be happy with Vera, so I suppose she is Bi."

"Any other aspirations like that we should know about?" Jessica asked. "Like asexuality?"

"No. I have nothing against someone who is of course, but that's not for me."

Helen shot me a look. "Nothing against? A joke there?"

"No. Just your dirty mind remembering when I was last against you." I told her.

"Fuck me." Helen commented

"Exactly what you said." I replied.

"No. Now, idiot. It is a little known fact that the only way you can become Bi is to have sex with a natural-born Bi."

"Really?" I asked

"Far as you know. Now get your ass over here. No cracking wall tiles this time. If those two join in, at least I'll be cushioned by the bed."

Jessica said to Morgan "I believe we have just been challenged."

"I am loath to rise up to such a challenge." Morgan said.

"Why?" Jessica asked.

"I want some. We do that again, there is nothing left for us." Morgan pointed out.

"You really are the smartest person in the family. OK. We'll just snuggle and watch then. Incoming!"

"Be a nice warm-up." Morgan pulled Jessica to her.
