I picked up the terrified woman, and stood her face to face with Morgan, holding her shoulders firmly, but not too hard, to make her face her fate. Also to ensure she did not buckle as tremors of terror ran through her body.
Morgan held up the picture by her face. "I give you one chance." Is all she said, the ice in her voice enough to set the woman into new fits of trembling. Morgan must have been hell on wheels in the interview room when she was a cop.
Yellow caved in a heartbeat. She did not even try to lie.
"He is my son. Not our brother." Yellow quavered.
"Your son by whom?" Morgan asked, her tone communicating in no uncertain terms that Yellow is inches from death.
"A man in New Orleans!" Yellow said in a rush. "I met him in the French Quarter during Mardi Gras. We danced. We drank. Please! You have to understand! Mardi Gras was different back then. Wilder. Crazier. More fun. I had been there before but never like this. We had sex on the street over and over, like animals in rut. We had sex in front of everyone around us, and no one thought anything about it. No one cared, and we were not the only ones having sex. On the street, in the doorways of businesses and up in the alleyways. It was crazy and it was magical. He took me again and again and he repeatedly filled me his seed and his child. I could not stop, and I did not want to. He cast a spell upon me, and like your Vampire is for you, I was his to command. His command was always more. More sex. I had no choice, I gave him my body, willingly."
With the truth coming out, Yellow's shaking decreased slightly. Confession is good for the soul it seems.
"Yes: My Vampire is like that as well. Something I use to my advantage. This man you speak of: He was a Vampire?"
A good question. He sounds like a fresh turn, at least in the theory of the Council. A Vampire that SHOULD be on probation.
"No. He had no fangs. He was magical. I suppose Vampires are magical too..." Yellow trailed off, unsure.
So much for that theory? A male Vampire would not have gotten her pregnant anyway. or would he? I can. Would he HAVE to bite her? I never felt the need before it turned into sex play. Hmm. That would make Pierre half Vampire? It seems unlikely, given what a fat, older, and perverted fuck he is. On the other hand, HIS son fooled Angel? Hmm squared.
No. I bit them both. They went under the Juice like a ton of bricks. They do not taste or smell like Vampires. Not related.
Or: Are they? I have no idea what my children are going to grow up to be. They are fully human now.
Shit.
"This plan of yours to assume the powers of the Astral is based upon your son, a man who is half Laveau and half handsome and indefatigable stranger? That seems to dilute your whole genetic engineering via selective breeding plan." Morgan was not amused.
I thought it worse than that. Morgan pointed that out next. "Andrea's mother. A little girl, probably just came into her menses. She was a Laveau?"
A downcast look. "No. Pierre disobeyed us. We punished him horribly for it, but Pierre was never going to have sex with a mature woman. We had to take what we could get. She was someone that they found someplace. Perhaps New Orleans, since his group comes from there. We do not know. We never met her. He called us only after Andrea was born to tell us that we had the child we wanted."
"You have no idea how selective breeding works." Morgan said. "Andrea is only quarter Laveau! An innocent child DIED to give you him, and he is not even what you wanted!"
"Andrea was raised as a Laveau, and we cast spells and fed him potions as he grew up. We re-made him as a Laveau: We bound him to us. You always have to do that. There are always outsiders coming in. You have to fix that. There are ways... You always have to make any outsiders OF the family."
