"What?" Jimin and Jungkook said at the same time, and the others didn't look any less surprised. Then they all exploded.
Jin: " That would be so cool!"
Taehyung: "7 is a great number, much better than 6."
Jin: "And we could have evenings like these more."
Even suga seemed excited: "Namjoon, waht a great idea. I was going to propose it myself, but since it's your flat.."
"Well," Namjoon said, turning to Jungkook.
"It's your decision of course. I just thought since you spent so much time here anyway, and we really like having you around, you could live here too. There is a guest room you could turn into your room. It's probably a bit small, but I think you could manage."
Jungkook was speechless. He couldn't imagine anything more amazing than moving in with them.
But...
He looked over at Jimin, the only one who hadn't said anything.
" What do you think, Jimin? "
" Me? " he asked, as if he was still in shock.
Jungkook suddenly had the terrible thought that maybe Jimin didn't want him here, in between the family he had found for himself.
"On one condition." Jimin finally said and looked directly at Jungkook with a growing smile.
Jungkook could look nowhere else.
"Which one?"
Was it his imagination or was his voice shaking a little?
"You'll take my room!"
Jungkook's eyes widened, his mind already imagining what it would be like.. together... with Jimin.. in one room.
Jimin smiled smugly, as if he knew what Jungkook was thinking and it made his lips even more puffy.
"Not like that, JK! But look at you! Your tall and strong and... Well anyway, you should get a bigger room. And mine is one of the biggest."
Jungkook searched for words.
"Jimin, you can't. It's really enough for me to have a small room. I don't wanna take anything from you."
"So you'll move in?", he immediately replied.
In that moment the door opened and Hoseok cam barging in, half dancing with earpods so loud, the boys could still hear the music.
He stopped apprubtly when he saw them all turn to him.
"Did I miss something?", he asked, taking his earpods out.
"Jungkook's moving in!" Jimin dropped the bomb on him. He hadn't even said yes, but when he saw Hoseok practically jump around the apartment with hoots and shouts shortly joined by Taehyung and Jimin, he knew there was no way he was gonna say no.
So he said yes

Dinner was delicious and they were all near bursting when they finished.
They didn't even need the alcohol to be super hyped up after the news of Jungkook's move in, and they were already making plans. He was still shocked at the sudden realization that he would become part of this family, and that maybe he already was.
It certainly felt that way.
He glanced at Jimin, shining as brightly as an angel and when he looked back at him, Jungkook couldn't bring himself to turn away. Jimin's lips pursed and his head dropped to one side, making his hair fall into his forehead. Jungkook's breath caught at the way Jimin's eyes seemed to spark with something from within. Something that made his heart beat faster and turned his stomach into a nest of butterflies.
"Jungkook? Don't you like it?"
His head jerked up at Taehyung voice.
"Like what?"
"Hello? Earth to Jungkook? The picture you said you like from my room. I was thinking of redecorating anyway, and I was wondering if you wanted it."
Jungkook nodded and tried to follow the conversation again, but his eyes kept skipping to Jimin.
What had that moment meant? Did he know what he felt? And if so, why had he looked at him like that. Was he just being paranoid?
Jimin didn't seem any different though. He was just back to being his goofy self, helping the other plan.

It was really late when he finally left, so it surprised him when his phone rang on his way to his now old apartment. He expected maybe Lisa was calling to check on him, and he felt something like guilt at the thought of her. He hadn't thought about her all evening.
But it wasn't her.
It was his mum.
"Hey Ma, what's going on?" he asked into the speaker.
"Son! Oh you are still awake, how good. I was calling to ask about your first day at work of course."
Jungkook had to hold back an eye roll. Of course she wad asking about work. He knew deep down, she only meant well- for her son to get a proper education, have a nice job, and of course a family with a beautiful and respected young girl.
Jungkook swallowed hard.
"It was great, Ma."
"Is that all? Tell me, how are your colleagues? Are there any pretty girls?"
His teeth knocked together forcefully and he decided to just get it over with.
"Yes, I actually met someone. Her name is Lisa."
"Lisa? Is she a foreigner?"
He hated the fact that it sounded like a bad thing coming out of her mouth.
"She's from Thailand. But mom, I did live with foreigners too, you know? You wanted me to, remember?"
"Yes, yes, I didn't mean it in a bad way. I am just curious. Any mother who cares for her only son would be curious."
"I know. Sorry, Ma. "
He never had it in him to be mad at her for long. Even if they had mostly been in contact over phone and video message and he had only come visit seldomly, he loved his parents nonetheless. And he wanted them to be proud.
He told her some more details and then hung up.
The talk with his mom had ruined his mood though.
He stared at his dark apartment, where some boxes were still unpacked. Then he directly went to his canvas, opened the colors and started painting. He didn't even take off his jacket. The only sound was the ticking of the clock. When he was finished he sat back, breathing more easily even though he shouldn't.
This should freak him out more, but it didn't.
He looked at his painting and a smile played around his lips. He had drawn Jimin - tried to capture the look he had given him earlier, head slightly bent to the side, wearing all white. And behind his back, two massive wings shot out. White and feathery and beautiful. Just like Jimin.
He fell asleep quickly.
