Chapter 10

~Meilin's POV~

I woke up to the sound of the emergency bell. Rollan was somehow still asleep. I shook him awake. He woke up. I got out of the bed and ran out of the room. I took a water pouch just in case. I ran outside and saw Abeke and Conor running towards the cell house. I saw Monika, Mary, and Micaella.

"What is going on???" I said.

"Song and Kayla escaped." I heard Monika say.

I gasped and ran towards the sea and I bumped into two girls wearing long cloaks and I recognized them immediately. I told both of them to come with me. When I got back Monika saw me with the two women. I told her to take their cloaks off. The girls bowed at the presence of her. Monika told them to take their hoods off. I told Abeke, Conor, and Rollan to get ready. Rollan made fire knives. Abeke got the biggest rock chunk and split it into daggers. I made a quarterstaff out of unbreakable ice. When they took off their hoods, I was right. It was Song and Kayla. They then charged at me. I ran towards them and swung my quarterstaff at them. Song had a weapon as well. I then saw Rollan in a tight battle with Kayla. I blocked Song's sword and kicked her. I heard shouts and voices. I realized that the entire cell house was free. I froze Song in ice and ran to help Rollan. He was about to get burned and I made the worst choice in my life. I blood bent Kayla. She gasped in pain when I did that. I then dropped her and pinned her with ice knives. Everyone looked at me in shock. All the battles had stopped. The prisoners went back to their cells while the guards dragged a frozen Song.

"Meilin. You blood bent her." Monika said in shock. Everyone looked at me. I took a step back and then ran away from the capital. I heard Rollan shouting my name, but I didn't care. I ran until I reached the ocean. I heard the shouts getting closer and I dove into the sea. I waterbent an air bubble to help me breathe. I swam out of the capital and on to a boat.

~Monika's POV~

I knew it was a bad idea to say that to Meilin. I have no family but her. I cried softly in my room. Lily nuzzled her head on my hand.

"Monika?" said somebody outside my room. I didn't answer. I saw Rollan, Abeke, Micaella, Lauren, Mary, and Conor walk into my room. They knelt beside me.

"What's wrong?" Abeke asked.

"It's all my fault that Meilin ran away. I wish I could fix the past and do something about it." I said. I was now full out crying. Worthy came into my room and kelt next to me. I hugged him. I didn't mean to do that, but I was really upset so I didn't care anyway. I cried into Worthy's neck. I was aware that he was hugging me back.

"Do you have any idea's she might be?" I asked Rollan.

"I don't kno-" Rollan then got an idea on where Meilin is.

"I think she might be in Zhong." Rollan said.

"Jaion Rion" I said. I was still in Worthy's neck. Me and Worthy broke apart. Worthy and I blushed.
"Sorry!!!" I said while still blushing.
"It's ok" said Worthy. Like me, he was blushing.
"Let's go!!!" Abeke said
