Chapter 13

~Monika's POV~

I was taken to this prison cellar and thrown into a cell. It was very dirty and it had a window at least.

"Monika?" I heard somebody say.

I looked to see who it was. She looked like me. She had a dragon tattoo on her neck, brown hair held back by a braid, and blue eyes.  

"Mom? Is that you?" I said. She nodded. 

I ran to the front of the cell and rammed it. I felt pain radiating throughout me. I didn't care, I rammed it a few more times and the cell almost broke when I rammed it again. I sat down panting. I had bruises all over me and my hair was over my face. I flipped it and got up. I opened the window and bent the water from the sea. I bent it to the bars and started cutting it. I was electrocuted a few times but I remained strong. I managed to cut through the bars and I ran to my mother.

"Hold on mom, I can get you out of here." I said. 

I froze the water and bent it onto my hands and started slicing the bars.

"Stop." My mother said.

"Why?" I said dumbfounded.

"Take off the ice swords and put your hands on to the bar and focus your dragon powers onto them." She said.

I put my hands onto the bars and focused Lily's powers onto the bars.

"No, not Lily's power." My mom said.

"What? She's the on-" I started saying. I then realized that she is telling me to use Scarlett's powers.

"Mom, Scarlett is dead." I said.

"She's alive and well." My mom said. 

"Now focus her strength onto the bars." My mother said.

I put my hands onto the bars and used Scarlett's powers. The familiar red aura transferred into the bars. I grabbed the sides of the bars and bent it to the side and I opened a hole wide enough for my mom to step out. I sat down panting. My mom reached for my hand to pull me up. I grabbed it and I got up.

"Well, Monika they did a good job raising you to defend yourself." She said.

"I want to see Lily, Scarlett's girl."

"I'm sorry mom, but I sent Lily to go get Meilin and her friends. They should be coming soo-" I started to say when I heard shouts and voices upon the deck.  

"Intruders!" I heard one of the guards say before he screamed and fell to the ground. 

I looked to see how did that and I saw Meilin walking towards me.

"Hey sis, need help?" said Meilin.

I saw someone coming behind Meilin. She turned around and kicked the person to the ground and shot him with the crossbow. I saw Lily and Scarlett coming up behind Meilin.

"Let's get the heck outta here." I said.

I helped my mom up and ran out of here. 

"Here, these belong to you." Meilin said handing me my gauntlets.

"Keep them. I don't use them that much." I said.

Meilin put them on arms again and we went to the armory. I was amazed to see Arcita solider weapons. I picked up a bottle. I trust it in the air twice and its tip and bottom came out. It turned into a bow and I found a string that can only be found in Arctica. 

  "You found a moon string from Arctica. Tell me about it." My mother said

"The string was weaved with water at night an-" I started saying when Meilin interrupted

"I'm sorry for interrupting but we need to go. Take what you can and go!" Meilin shouted.

I took a bag of water, my bond token, throwing knives, the bottle, a quiver of arrows, and a Zhongense Dao. I slung the bag of water onto my back, I put the throwing knives into a bag, I tied the bottle to my belt loop on my pants, and I put the Zhongense Dao on my waist in the back. I unhooked the bottle and made it into a bow and tied the string on it. Me, My mom, and Meilin walked out of the room. My mother's spirit animal walked with Lily and Scarlett. I got to the deck to see everyone fighting the army. I pulled out my bow, nocked an arrow, and let it fly. It hit a guy in the side and I saw Worthy fighting a guy.

"Worthy!" I said

He turned to look at me and saw him smile. I saw woman come up behind holding a dagger over his head and I ran towards him. I grabbed one of my throwing knives and let it fly.

"Duck!" I shouted to Worthy.

The knife made its mark. It hit the woman in the nose and I summoned my knife back. Before we left the armory, I put ice onto the knife to bend it back to me. I ran to Worthy and hugged him.

"How did you get here?" I said into his ear.

"I had a few friends pick me up." Worthy said.

"Monika? You have a boyfriend???????" I heard my mom say.

"Worthy. Run." I told Worthy.

I saw my mom pull out a weird shoe and ran after Worthy. (The shoe is a sandal >:D. BTW, you now Slyvanna from Aphmau right? Monika's mother is like her. She hates Worthy as you can tell.)

~2 hours later~

We arrived back in Arctica 2 hours later after my mom nearly killed Worthy because she thought that Worthy was my boyfriend. I was still laughing at the memory of it. I felt Worthy coming up behind me.

"Hey." He said. He was rubbing his face still.

"Hey. Move your hand off of that fat red mark." I said.

Worthy didn't do it. I grabbed his hand and yanked it off and nearly breaking his wrist in the process.

"Ow! Not so hard." Worthy yelped. 

I got the spirit water on of my necklace and bent it towards his face.

"Hold your breath. I know you hate water and it will only be five minutes." I told him.

Worthy flinched away from the water, so I grabbed him by the arm and started to heal him. 

"Your ok." I said. 

I cupped my hand on his cheek trying to calm him. Two seconds later I felt a pair of lips on mine and I looked to see Worthy kissing me. I quickly kissed him back when I heard footsteps.

"Monika? Sweetheart? Me and your sister are going to dinner at the restaurant near the sea." I heard my mom say.

"Get under the bed!" I whisper-shouted to Worthy.

My mother came into my room when Worthy got under the bed. I was reading a random book to cover up what happened. 

"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" My mom said.

"I want Worthy to come to dinner. Rollan is coming....right?"I asked.

"Sure, unless you guys do not kiss at all." My mother said.

"Mom!" I yelled. 

I felt a blush creep up onto my face and I think Worthy was blushing as well. 

"Wait..Is Rollan coming?" I asked.

"Your sister's boyfriend? Yep." My mom said.

"Ok." I said while my mom was walking out of my room.

Worthy crawled out from under my bed and I got up. 

"Can you leave?" I asked Worthy.

"Fine." Worthy said.

I kissed him one last time. We broke apart 10 seconds later. 

"I need to change." I said.

"Ok." Worthy said.
