Chapter 16

~Monika's POV~

I was sitting on the balcony and I felt someone behind me.

"Who's there?" I said.

My hand rested on the hilt of my sword. The person didn't answer.

"I said...WHO'S THERE!" I pulled out my sword and faced to see who it was.

It was Worthy. I put my sword back in my belt.

"What's going on?" I asked

"Meilin and Rollan are gone." He said.

"What?" I said.

"They're gone. I went into their room and I didn't see them at all." Worthy said.

"Misstress! Someone is here to see you." A servant ran into the room.

I kissed Worthy on the cheek.

"I'll be back." I told him before running out of my room.

I ran down the hall and into the throne room. I saw my dad and he opened his arms if motioning to hug him. I ignored him and summoned Lily from passive state. I walked to the throne with Lily on my back and I sat down on the throne.

"What do you want?" I said in a booming voice.

"I want the throne of Arctica. I want you dethroned and maybe I'll let your sister and her boyfriend go." My father said.

"What did you do with them?" I yelled at him.

"I may have put them on a ship to the Stetriol to be tortured forever." He said.

"Don't you dare do anything to my sister!" I ran towards my father sword drawn.

I kicked him in the stomach and I waterbent him into the wall. I felt Worthy's presence behind me. Together we charged at my dad and I pulled out a metal whip and cracked it. I hit my dad's cheek but pulling out the metal whip was a bad idea. My dad bent the whip with his head and hit me in the ribs making me cry out in pain and fall to the ground. I felt the cold metal wrap around my hands. I winched. I felt Lily's and Scarlett's aura surround me and it touched my dad. I heard him scream and I felt hot metal on my skin. I stood up and summoned a staff of fire. That power was from Scarlett. I pointed it at his neck and my dad felt the heat.

"Where the heck is my sister?" I said. 

I pinned my dad to the wall with my throwing knives. He smirked.

"I knew you would do that. So I kidnapped a few people to persuade you to give me the throne." My dad said.

I turned my had to see Worthy forced to the ground and I saw Abeke, Conor, my mom, the entire Greencloak army, and the Redcloaks. I turned to meet my dad's cold gaze and I saw him smile.

"Give me the throne and maybe I'll let your friends go or you watch them die starting with the cat man." My father said.

I saw a man walk over and pick Worthy up and held a knife to his neck. I had no choice to accept my dad's challenge.

"Good choice." My dad said.

"No." I heard Worthy say.

I ran over to him and gave him one of my knives.

"Use it during the fight and free everyone. I love you." I said.

I then kissed him and after a few seconds, we broke apart.

"I love you too." He said.

"How touching daughter. I expected better from you, dating a peasant! You aren't half your mother!" My dad teased.

I threw one of my knives at him but I missed on purpose. I saw the fear in his eyes.

"Shut up or I won't miss next time." I warned my dad.

I bent my knives back to me and my dad fell in a heap. I caught knives and threw one back at my dad for good measure but missed.

"I need to get ready for the fight." I said and left the room. 

I ran out of the castle and to the docks and stole a ship. I sailed out to sea hoping to catch the ship before it's too late. I spotted Rollan kissing Meilin.

"Hey lovebirds! Need help?" I yelled out to them.

"Monika?" I heard Rollan say.

"Yep! Come aboard!" I yelled.

I helped them aborad and realized this was the first time Meilin used the avatar state. I sailed the ship to a hidden cove and saw the woman I needed to see.

"Hello, Katara." I said.

"Hello, Monika." Katara said. 

"Heal my sister and her friend. Keep them here until I pick them up." I said.

"Ok." She said.

I went back to the ship and sailed back to the capital. I hoped that I can defeat my dad because if I don't, I have over a trillion lives on the line.
