Chapter 19

~3rd person~

Monika woke up and felt something furry on her leg. Monika lifted the sheets to find Worthy's tail on her leg and Worthy. Monika shook him awake and Worthy didn't wake up. Monika reached down her leg and pulled his tail. Worthy still didn't wake up and Monika used her last resort. She called out Lily and told her to screech into Worthy's ear. Monika plugged her ears and Lily screeched and the screech reached Nilo and back. Worthy fell off the bed with his ears plugged and Monika told Lily to stop screeching.

"Morning." Monika said.

"What?" Worthy said.

"You can hear in a few minutes. Sorry about that." Monika said.

Worthy got up from the floor and walked towards Monika. Worthy picked up Monika and threw her over his shoulder.

"Let me go!!!!!!!!" Monika screamed.

Worthy just held her tighter before the emergency bell rang through the entire castle. Monika summoned her wings and nearly decapitated Worthy. Worthy dropped Monika to duck away from her wings before attaching themselves to Monika's back. Monika dropped lightly to the ground before realizing that an earthquake is coming and Monika ran back to her room then went into the secret room in her closet. Worthy followed Monika into the room and braced themselves against the wall. The room shook violently and Worthy slammed into Monika's back between her wings. Monika kept falling on top of Worthy and blushing when she did. The earthquake lasted for at least 2 hours and Monika groaned because her legs were tangled with Worthy's and her wings were tangled with his tail.

"Please get off me." Worthy said.

"I can't because your tail is in my wings." Monika said with tears streaming down her cheeks.

Pain was radiating through her body from her wings and Monika felt Worthy trying to get up and out of the room. Monika cried out in pain and Worthy stopped trying to get up.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Y-your tail." Monika stammered.

Worthy saw his tail wrapped around Monika's wings and he quickly unwrapped his tail. Monika knew that her wings were bleeding. Monika felt pain in her wings and could barely flap them. Monika opened the door from the closet and said the spell for her wings to detach from her back. Monika felt no more pain but was still crying. She went to go pick up Meilin and Rollan who were busy making out on the bed in their room. Monika docked at the little dock on Katara's port and went to go knock on the door. 

"Hello, sweetheart." Katara said.

"Are those lovebirds ready to go?" Monika asked.

"They're busy doing you know what." Katara said while winking.

"Oh no." Monika said while running into the little house.

Monika found two people kissing on the bed and she bent water over their heads and dropped it. They stopped doing what they were doing an hour ago and got off the bed to look at who the heck did that.

"Monika???" Meilin said.

"Yep! Cmon you're getting out of here."Monika said

"Ok!" Meilin said before walking out of the room.

I said bye to Katara and pulled away from the dock back to the capital.

"A lot has changed since you guys were at Katara's home for a bit." Monika said.

~Monika's POV~

Meilin and Rollan followed me to my room and I told them everything.

"Wait, let me get this straight. You're a phoenix of the elements and more powerful than me?" Meilin said.

I nodded and summoned my wings to prove it. My wings attached to my back and I showed them off to Meilin and Rollan.

"Woah. They're pretty." Meilin said.

Rollan tried to touch my right-wing but failed. My right wingtip slapped Rollan in the nose and he fell onto the floor pinching his nose.

"Sorry." I said.

"It's fine. Cool deadly wings though." Rollan said in a high-pitched voice.

I giggled. I felt hands on my waist and I kicked the person in the thing that I prefer not say. I heard a yelp and a thud. I turned to see none other than Worthy and I hugged him.

"Sorry." I said.

"It's fine. Just don't do that again." Worthy said.

Meilin and Rollan were laughing and I realized that the dance is tomorrow.

"Shoot! I forgot about the dance!" I panicked.

 "Ok, we need to go to our room so bye!" Rollan said before Meilin and he left.

I detached my wings from my back and went into my closet to change into my nightgown. Worthy was asleep in bed and I got in and fell asleep.
