"What do you mean by that?" Rydel demanded.

"Rydel it's nothing. It came out wrong," I tried.

Her eyes narrowed at me.

"So what were you trying to say?"

"I.. Ross did it, as in I bumped into Ross and then into the wall, so I hit my head and that's why I'm bleeding," I said quickly.

"And that's the reason you were crying so hard?" she said skeptically.

I nodded praying she would believe me. She didn't say anything and left it at that, but I could see she didn't believe me.

"Let's get you cleaned up, yeah?"

I nodded and winced. She got a cloth and a wipe, and started to clean my head up.

"We won't need to bandage it, the cut's not too bad."

She kept wiping it until all the blood was gone.

"I've cleaned it, but don't touch it, or it might start bleeding again," she told me.

"Ok, thanks Rydel."

My stomach grumbled and I sat down, waves of dizziness over taking me. Rydel's eyes narrowed at me again.

"You haven't eaten anything all day, have you?" she accused.

"I just haven't been hungry," I lied.

"I can hear your stomach growling from over here. Don't lie. I'm bringing you some food," she said.

"No Rydel, it's fine. I'll just go home and eat," I said.

"It's not like your parents are home. Eat here, so I'll know you have," she said before leaving.

I sighed, knowing that this plan to not eat would never work. I could try throwing up, but that's even worse for my body. And besides, it's not like Ross would stop calling me fat.

I got up and went to see Rydel in the kitchen, placing a couple of pizza slices on a plate for me. I got a glass and poured myself some coke, and then got another plate for Rydel. I put some slices down and handed it to her, taking my plate from her hands.

"You realise you could have just eaten the ones in your hand instead of swapping them around for no reason?" she said while laughing.

I thought about it and realised she was right. I started laughing as well.

"Idiot," I heard in the background.

I turned around to see Ross there watching us, his arms folded across his chest.

"Not everyone can have such wonderful brains as you. You know, the ones you use to insult me all day long?" I retorted.

He glared at me, his hatred probably increasing even more, if that was possible.

"Oh, so the pathetic bitch finally understood how to open her mouth? Surprising," he shot back.

I turned to Rydel, who was standing there watching us, looking uncomfortable.

"Let's just go," I said to her, as we started walking.

"Wow, so now you boss my sister around. It was bad enough you did that to me for the 10 years of our fucked up friendship, now you do that to her as well?" he called after us.

I froze, the words cutting through me. He had said a lot about me as the present me, but he had never insulted our friendship, or the way I was during then. Since he had left me, I had changed. For a while I became completely depressed, then slowly tried to build myself up again.
