"Do you guys know each other?" Edaline asked. Sophie pulled on the end of her shirt. Don't pluck an eyelash. Don't pluck an eyelash.
"Um yeah. We go to school together," Dex mumbled. Sophie tried to avoid eye contact but their eyes met for a second. Sophie quickly looked away. Ugh. Awkward.
...
"It is so nice seeing you guys!" Aunt Juline exclaimed. Sophie forced a smile and stuffed some pasta into her mouth. Her eyelashes suddenly felt incredibly itchy.
"I can't believe I haven't met your kids! Where have we been all these years?" Edaline exclaimed.
"In another country," a small girl with strawberry blonde hair and freckles piped up.
"Rex! She's got a point though," Juline added, raising her eyebrows at Edaline.
"So it's Dex, Rex, Lex, and Bex?" Grady asked. Juline sighed.
"Yep," Juline replied before breaking a fight up between Bex and Lex.
"My dad thought it was real funny when he named us," Dex said, rolling his eyes. Sophie cracked a small smile.
...
"Do you want to play a board game or something?" Dex asked after they had finished dinner.
"Uh yeah, sure," Sophie answered. Dex led her to a separate room where the three triplets were already.
"What do you guys wanna play?" Dex said.
"Uno!" Bex exclaimed.
"Monopoly!" Rex yelled.
"Cluedo!" Lex screamed.
"You only want to play Monopoly cause you always win!" Bex shrieked, shoving Rex.
"You only want to play Uno because it's the only game you understand!" Rex hollered back.
"You guys don't want to play Cluedo because you're too dumb to actually crack the case!" Lex roared. Rex punched Lex and Lex kicked him back. Sophie winced. Was this what having siblings was like?
"Um, why don't we play slap jack instead?" Dex suggested. The triplets didn't pay attention and kept on fighting.
"I said, WHY DON'T WE PLAY SLAP JACK INSTEAD," Dex yelled. The three of them paused and looked at each other.
"Fine," They said simultaneously. They got off each other and sat down.
Dex took the cards out and started shuffling. He passed out the cards to everyone and the game started.
"It's your turn Sophie," Lex said.
"Oh right," Sophie said, snapping out of a daze. She placed a card down.
Bex immediately slapped her hand down on the card and Lex and Rex followed suit.
"HA you guys have to take the cards," Bex grinned.
"Bex that was a 5. We're on 4 right now," Dex said. Bex's grin fell and she muttered something under her breath.
"HAHA," Lex snorted, sticking his tongue at her.
"Shut up," Bex grumbled, taking the cards and placing them in her deck.
"Loser," Rex mocked. Bex slammed her hands on the table and glared at him.
"I said, SHUT UP!!"
...
"Thanks for coming Edaline. It was lovely seeing you guys again," Juline smiles, giving them all hugs. Edaline and Juline continued to talk. Sophie sighed. They were gonna be here for a while.
"Hey um Sophie," Dex piped up.
"Yeah?"
"It was nice to finally meet you, .. cuz," Dex said awkwardly.
"You too," Sophie smiled and held out her hand. Not close enough for hugs just yet.
"See you on Monday," Dex grinned, taking her hand and shaking it. Sophie smiles.
"See you on Monday."Thanks guys for waiting soooo long. I've had a terrible block and couldn't think of anything. You'd think i'd have more time during this quarantine. How's the story so far? I know it's been crappy but i'm trying ://///
