Sophie tried to disappear into her hoodie as she passed people in the hallway. Everybody was greeting Fitz and smiling at him like he was a movie star.  They just shot her weird looks. She loved this school already.

"Hey Fitz! Who's this new friend you got?" a boy with messy blonde hair and ice blue eyes smirked and gave Fitz a slap on the back. Fitz rolled his eyes and smiled.

"I'm just showing her around. She's a new student," Fitz explained.  He turned around to face her, and Sophie tried to contain her blush.

"Which class do you have first?" Fitz asked. Sophie fumbled for her schedule and found the first class for today.

  "Um Science," Sophie replied.

"Well this is it!" Fitz pointed to the classroom just a little further down the hall.

 "Thanks," Sophie mumbled.

"No problem. Your homeroom should be next door," Fitz assured, smiling. Sophie felt her cheeks get warm. She rushed into the classroom and sat down.

"Good morning everyone and welcome to a new school year! I'm Ms. Brooke and I'll be your homeroom teacher this year! Oh yes, and we have one new student, let me see who it is," a teacher came in with a warm smile and a clipboard in her hand. "Ah, Sophie Foster!" Sophie felt the whole class's gaze burn into her.

"You must be Sophie!" Ms. Brooke said excitedly. Sophie kept staring at her hands and forced herself to look up. But Ms. Brooke wasn't looking at her. She was looking at a girl with long black hair with silver tips and silvery eyes.

"Um no, my name's Linh," Linh shook her head and pointed at Sophie. "I think she's Sophie."

"My apologies Linh! Welcome to the school Sophie!" Ms. Brooke said delightfully. Sophie smiled weakly and buried her hands inside her pockets. This teacher was sure optimistic.  The bell rung and all the students grabbed their bags and stood up.

"Have a wonderful day, my students!" Sophie stood up and grabbed her bag. Next is Science, next door. Sophie thought.

"Hey there, Sophie, right?" a blonde haired girl with big blue eyes rushed up to her.

"Um yeah, that's me," Sophie answered.

"I'm Marella. What class do you have next?" Marella asked, playing with one of the braids in her hair.

 "Science."

"Oh, same! We can walk there together!"Marella suggested. Sophie frowned. Walk? Wasn't it next door?

"Isn't Science next door?" Sophie questioned, knitting her brow. Marella blinked and then shook her head.

"No. That's the Science class for the older grades. Who showed you around?" Marella questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Uh Fitz." Marella's eyebrows jumped and her blue eyes got even bigger.

"Fitz? Like Fitz Vacker?"

"I guess," Sophie shrugged. "He didn't tell me his last name."

"Fitz is the most popular guy in school! Literally every girl has a crush on him," Marella said. I can see why. Sophie whispered inside her head.

"You see that girl over there with the chocolate brown hair?" Marella said, nodding in the direction. A girl with teal eyes and curly chocolate brown hair was talking with some other people. She was undeniably pretty.  Her lips were heart shaped and wisps of hair framed her perfect face.

"That's Biana, his sister. They're both literally royalty in society. Their parents are really influential people," Marella explained.

"And how do you know all this?" Sophie wondered.

"Everyone knows about the Vackers," Marella said as if were obvious.

"Who's our Science teacher?" Sophie asked. She was asking so many questions today. She hoped Marella wasn't getting tired of it.

"Oh our Science teacher is Ms. Galvin. She's really impatient," Marella added. That was great. What an amazing start to a new year. Sophie sat next to Marella during Science and waited for this Ms. Galvin to come in.

"Oh so this is the new girl everyone's talking about," Sophie heard a snicker behind her back. A girl with frizzy brown hair and blue eyes. She couldn't help but think that her eyes looked kind of mean.

"What do you mean, Stina?" Marella snorted, rolling her eyes.

"Oh I don't know Marella. But everyone's talking about how Fitz showed her around today. Is that true, Sophie?" Stina asked, looking at her nails. Sophie frowned. How did she know my name?

"Words travels fast around here newbie. Better get used to it," Stina smirked. Sophie tried to ignore her and pushed down her emotions. She would have to figure out how to deal with her later.

"Good morning Ms. Galvin," the class said in unison as the teacher entered the room.

"How many times do I have to tell you it's Lady Galvin!"

Well this was going to be fun.
