Pain was all that Nishikita could feel. Sweat dripped down his back as he pushed his muscles harder than he had ever pushed them before. Finally, he heard Akari's voice tell him that the set was over. He collapsed onto the ground, wishing that he had never agreed to help her get ready for the annual sports day. He was exhausted, and felt grateful when he felt Akari put a cold drink in his hand. He took a few sips from it, and was extremely happy to feel the cold water engulfing his mouth. He heard Akari say something, but in his almost comatose state, he didn't quite hear what she was trying to say. He quickly asked her to repeat what she had just said.
"You know, you look really cute when you're all tired like that."
Nishikita shot up in an instant, only to smash his head into the wooden block she was holding above his head. Pain exploded across his forehead as his head fell backwards and smashed into the floor. Nishikita wondered what had happened to his pain as blackness quickly engulfed his vision.
*TIME SKIP*
Nishikita groaned, struggling to open his eyes. He felt confused as to why it was so hard for him to use his muscles and when he finally opened his eyes, his confusion only increased. He was in his bed, but he never remembered making his way home after being at Akari-San's house. He didn't know why, but for some reason he seemed to be irrationally angry at her. That's when he remembered what she had done to him. He got even angrier when he realized that every. single. muscle in his body hurt because of her.
He closed his eyes again, but reopened them when he realized that he didn't know what time it was. He got his answer when he looked at his bedside clock and realized that it was actually five minutes before his alarm was set to go off for him to go to school. With a grunt, he stood up and shook himself off.
In her own house, Akari-San was slowly waking up as well. As she opened her eyes, she stood up and started to get ready for school. For some strange reason, Nishikita popped into her head and she had an instant feeling of guilt. She didn't know what had come over her for her to think that it was a good idea to hurt him like that. Realizing that Nishikita had a valid reason to be angry at her, she started to think of ways to apologize. She thought that maybe she should give him something like a soda when they walked home from school.
When she got to class, she walked over to where he was with his friends, and felt a pang of guilt when she saw the massive red mark on his forehead. As she walked over, she quickly saw his eyes flicker over to her, and then straight back to his friends, before he started to walk away from them, saying something about how he needed to go to the toilet. Was he trying to ignore her or was she just reading too much into it. She got her answer when he returned to the class and proceeded to walk to the opposite side of the class to her. Due to her popularity with the boys in their class, she was quickly swarmed with people that she didn't want to talk to however, in order to save face, she decided that she would engage them anyway.
Nishikita noticed her talking to the other guys who had crushes on her, and assumed that she had already forgotten about him. Takagi-San noticed Nishikita by himself and smiled.
