(Gwen Stacy had a cold look in her eyes)
(She walked across the campus without looking at anyone when she saw him heading towards her)
(Peter Parker...)
(Peter swallowed nervously when he saw her, things had been extremely awkward between them ever since that night in the Jazz Club when things got..out of hand, they'd barely spoken for several months but that wasn't going to stop Peter from attempting to make amends)
Peter: "Gwen I.."
(Gwen brushed past him)
Peter: "Look I'm sorry okay?"
(Gwen turned on him)
Gwen: "Are you seriously that selfish? You think everything is about you don't you? What else could I possibly be upset about besides that one time Peter Parker asked me out just to use me?"
Peter: "Gwen.."
Gwen: "No Peter! My father is dead."
(Peter froze, completely stunned)
Gwen: "He was killed in a shootout..two nights ago."
Peter: "..Oh Gwen...I'm so sorry..I didn't know.."
Gwen: "No. You wouldn't would you? Maybe you should try thinking about someone else for a change."
(With that she marched off, leaving a distraught Peter alone, feeling horrible)
(A few minutes later Peter walked into Dr Conners lab, Conners was writing out formulas on a chalk board)
Conners: "Late Peter? I suppose old habits die hard."
Peter: "Sorry Dr Conners."
Conners: "Oh don't worry Parker, I was just joking. Here have a look at this."
(Peter put on his white lab coat and joined Dr Conners by the chalk board)
Conners: "I believe I've finally cracked the formula."
(Peter studied the equations)
Peter: "Amazing. You think it would work?"
Conners: "I know it will. The key was the DNA found within many species of Lizard. They contain the ability to heal the body on a cellular level. Imagine what this could mean for people with diseases! Maybe even.." (He looked down at his missing arm)
Peter: "It's brilliant doc. But maybe we should keep testing for now. Just in case there's any potential side effects."
Conners: "Peter." (He chuckled) "Between two geniuses like us, what could possibly go wrong?"
(Conners smiled which Peter returned but when Conners turned to get to work, Peter's smile faded and was replaced by a look of concern)
