After the events that blew up Huxs machine him and his entire crew moved from there to their new star destroyer. Hux held tight to the locket in his pocket as he readied himself for the day. He walked onto the deck where the destroyer and the rest of the ships came out of hyper space. He smiled at how easily his troops found them within a mere couple of days. He spent those last couple of days isolating himself. He couldn't help but feel the loss of his machine all over again. He put years into that all of his emotions and feelings of loss of his wife and child into that machine and now with it gone it felt like they were gone all over again. He missed his wife, he missed their talks or the way she was firm in her thoughts and ideas. He tried counting the days and as Math would have it his son would have been five years old, if he was still alive. His friend Peavey tried to cheer him up but Hux just asked him to be put into quarantine again, he felt like it was time. And it worked, but only a little, the pain was still there but not a whole lot to pull him away from his mission.
He second in command, Peavey, turned to him, "Seems we caught them in the middle of their evacuation."
Hux gave a half satisfied smile, with his hands clasped behind his back, "I have my orders from supreme leader Snoke this is where we snuff out the resistance once and for all." He turns to his troops, "Tell captain Kennedy to prime his dread not, incinerate their base, destroy their transports and obliterate their fleet."
Hux was walking along the bridge looking over his recruits and their work. He was overseeing the preparations for taking out the rebellion base when a voice grabbed his attention. A voice he hasn't heard since he was last captured. He smiled to himself inwardly so no one knew how he really felt. "Attention. This is Commander Poe Dameron of the Republic fleet. I have an urgent communique for General Hux."
Hux walked around the deck and got closer to his crew, "Patch him through." He told his communicator, he then continued loud with a booming voice full of confidence, even if he didn't feel it, "This is General Hux of the First Order. The Republic is no more. Your fleet are Rebel scum and war criminals. Tell your precious princess there will be no terms, there will be no surrender." He ended puffing out his chest.
Poe then said, in a confused tone, "Hi, I'm holding for General Hux."
"This is Hux. You and your friends are doomed. We will wipe your filth from the galaxy!" He said, exasperated.
Poe pauses for a moment, "Okay, I'll hold."
Hux finally asked "Hello?"
Poe answered him, "Hello? Yup, I'm still here."
"Can you— can he hear me?" He asks a crewman to his left. A bridge crewman nods to the general.
"Hux?"
"He can?" Realisation finally hitting Hux. Now he could start to see Poe was messing with him. Internally he was laughing but he had to remain in character.
