We sat in neat rows as McGonagall explained the details of what was about to happen. "The Yule Ball is of course a chance for us all to - er - let our hair down." She stated as I tilted my head in confusion.  "Because the Yule ball first and foremost, is a dance." McGonagall explained as I froze.

I felt my heart drop and pound in my chest. We were going to dance, I didn't dance I haven't danced since... since that trip.

I heard a few people complaining while Flitch tried to get the record playing.

"Mr Weasley, come here," McGonagall called as Ron shyly stood up and walked towards her. "Put your hand on my waste," McGonagall ordered as Ron gasped in shock.

"Your what?" Ron mumbled as McGonagall rolled her eyes.

"My waste." She repeated as Ron did as he was told. McGonagall proceeded to take Ron's hand.

I wanted to stop McGonagall from dancing with Ron as he fumbled around awkwardly.

"Boys on your feet!" She ordered as we stayed silent and sunk into our seats.

I noticed Neville sneaking out which I couldn't help but laugh at. Poor Neville.

Later, when Ron and I came back to the dorms, we spotted Neville practicing, he wasn't that bad, pretty good actually just a bit hesitant.

I didn't care about the ball, it wasn't as if I wanted to dance and I wasn't going to ask out my crush. I'm not that stupid. They wouldn't want to go with me anyway.

Instead, I helped Ron run after girls while offering emotional support.

"Harry!" I jumped up, stumbling over my feet as I braced myself for the fall. "Woah there Harry. Careful," Cedric said while catching me and helping me stand again. "Are you alright?"

I nodded shyly as he rolled his eyes not believing me.

"Come on, I am meeting Fleur and Viktor." Cedric announced as he dragged me down into the room set up especially for us champions. "Hello guys!" Cedric screamed as he spotted the others.

Fleur and Viktor greeted us as I mumbled a hello. I sat on the couch as Cedric collapsed beside me.

"Looking forward to the ball?" Cedric asked us as I let out a small groan.

"Are you alright Harry?" Fleur asked me as I shrugged.

"Just not looking forward to it..." I mumbled before Cedric punched my arm.

"I am sure you will once you get a date." He said affectionately as I rubbed my now sow arm.

"I'm not so sure about that..." I muttered quietly.

"Why not?" Fleur asked me as I shrugged.

"I don't think it'll end well if I asked them out..." I mumbled while curling into a ball.

"Come now Harry, I'm sure she would go out with you if you asked." Viktor told me as I flinched a little. "You just need to be confident.

"Viktor's right, what's the worst that can happen?" Cedric asked me as I curled up a little more.

"They could hate me..." I muttered while avoiding their looks.

"I'm sure that won't happen." Fleur comforted me calmly.

I only shook my head as Ceric spoke loudly, "If she does, then she doesn't deserve you."

A part of me panicked at his words. It wasn't their fault. "No! They are kind and caring and brave! They deserve to be happy!" I screamed startling the others as I shook. "It wouldn't be their fault. Why would they want to go out with me anyway? I'm a freak, burden. No one wants me so why would they?!" I screamed while pulling at my hair, tears streaming down my face.
