AMA POV
I walked into the apartment I shared with Radike, my roommate and switched on the lights. It was rather quiet meaning that she wasn't around. If she was, loud music would have been playing from her Beats Pill. She never lets me rest. Sometimes it was fun but other times it was flat out annoying.
I plopped myself down on my favorite maroon arm chair. I was so stressed. I looked around. Radike must have cleaned up. She's the one with a more flexible job than mine so she always cleans the house. And she never complained. I swear I love that girl.
We lived in a small but cozy apartment in Lekki phase one. It was an agent that brought me to Radike. It turned out she had an extra room and needed a roommate to share the cost with because the rents here were pretty expensive.
As my back hit the chair, my mind went back to my encounter with Femi this morning.
I didn't know what came over me when I shaded him. My fear of being played again over took my reasoning. And Femi was THE Yoruba demon. The worst of the worst. I couldn't let myself fall into his trap.
So I told him off.
It was stupid, being that he was in close relations with my boss and I could lose my job. But I didn't think he would be bothering me again.
The loud slamming of the door brought me out of my train of thought.
"Heyyy girl" Radike, my 5 ft 9 dark skinned roommate screamed like it's been long she saw me. That's how she was, joyful. She walked past me and took a seat on the long maroon sofa.
"Radike must you be so loud every time." I whined. I was tired and I needed peace.
"You're the one always behaving like a trailer ran into you." She said. Eyeing me up and down. Typical Radike, always trying to find a justification for her loudness.
I smiled and rolled my eyes "Just forget, how was your day?"
"Oh my day was fineee. You know the usual. Uche being romantic as hell" she said flipping her expensive human hair to reveal hickeys all over her neck.
I chuckled and shook my head "Radike, Radike, Radike!!! How many times did I call your name???"
Her face suddenly fell "Ama don't start please. You're only being self righteous because you're single. Don't be using your reggae to spoil my blues."
I laughed "I'm not saying you shouldn't date Radike I'm just saying that dating your boss and having sex in the office is a bit of a risk. Okay what if people find out?"
"We're being careful"
"Being careful by having sex in the office? Come on Radike. Your boss is the Chairman's only son. You have more to lose than he does." I adviced praying that she takes it.
"So what do you suggest I do?" She asked, finally understanding what I was driving at.
I smiled "Just stop the office sex. Get a room."
We laughed.
It was fun when Radike listened to me. She had a tendency of making bad decisions.
"So how was your day? Anything new?" She asked.
"The usual. Just that my boss finally awarded the factory contract. You wouldn't believe who got it" I started. She gave me a questioning look.
"Tuwomi Construction"
She gasped and jumped in her seat "Oh oh oh isn't that the construction company that built the new amusement park?"
