Ama POV

"Radike, Radike!!" I called out as I stepped into my house. It was awfully quiet which was odd. Saturday nights always had Radike playing loud music and dancing round the house but it was oddly serene and it didn't feel right.

"Raddy, where are you?" I quickly locked the door and made my way to her room. I opened the door and saw her curled up in her bed. She was asleep, so slowly and quietly moved to close the door but stopped when I heard whimpers. It sounded like she was crying. I immediately rushed and sat beside her. She was facing the wall.

"Raddy?" I called again to make sure I wasn't hearing things. I heard it again and this time it sounded more like a sob. I touched her.

"Ama" she sobbed out.

"Radike please sit up and tell me what's wrong" I said quietly. It broke my heart to see her cry. She was the strongest person I know and to see her like this was completely foreign to me.

She sat up and the sight of her face broke my heart even further "what's wrong?"

"Uche came here" she said.

"Why is that a bad thing?" I asked, not quite understanding where she's coming from.

She sighed and wiped her face. "He told me he's getting married to someone else." She said and winced in pain.

"What?" I exclaimed. To say I was shocked was an understatement. Uche was a really nice guy and for him to do this was really baffling but they don't write madness on the forehead do they.

"He said that they'd been seeing each other for a while now and.."

"And what?"

"He proposed to her today." She said and started sobbing again.

"Come here" I said and pulled her to my shoulder. I waited for her to calm down before speaking again.

"Raddy, you'll be fine okay? I know you loved him but now you know he's scum and doesn't deserve your love. You just need to move on okay?" I told her. I felt really sad for her. I actually thought the relationship would lead to marriage because he really went out of his way to make her very happy. She didn't deserve this heartbreak.

"I don't know how Ama"

"Well first off. You need to get a new job. Delete everything about him from your phone." I said and she chuckled a bit.

"New job? In this Nigeria. It's not that easy." She said.

"Don't worry. I know people." I said giving her assurance. I knew what to do. I was going to ask Femi for a job for her or if he had contacts. I was ready to put my pride on the line for her. I didn't care. I couldn't let her continue working with Uche. It would drive her crazy.

She brought her head up and wiped her face again. "Forget about that. How was your date?"

I knew she wanted to change the subject not just for me, but for her own sanity which I understood. "It was fine. He took me to watch Moremi" I said and she smiled.

"Wow Moremi. That must have been really expensive. I remember someone telling me that watching a musical at terrakulture would cost like 30k per seat." She said.

I smiled. It was true though. Seeing stage musicals cost a lot and that was one of the reasons why I never went to see them before. I nodded in response.

She shrugged. "Well he obviously has money. But big question. Hope you shagged sha"

"Radike!" I exclaimed at her ridiculous statement.
