After that one night, Markhyuck was thriving. They had come out of Donghyuck's room while holding hands. Announcing to their friends that they were now officially dating. Everyone gratulated them, softly muttering under their breathes that it was about time.

A while later everyone went their own ways again. Yang Yang sat on the couch across of the reception, staring at the entrance as he was waiting for someone.

A few minutes before, he had to watch all the couples being lovey-dovey with each other. And when Lucas and Jungwoo started making flirty remarks towards each other he couldn't be in that room any longer.

He was about to find Renjun, since the boy hadn't shown his face the entire evening. When Yang Yang bumped into Chenle and Jisung as he was on his way out of the room, he had asked them if they knew where the older boy was. They told him that Renjun went out to get some food 1 hour ago.

This late?

At night?

So long ago?

Well that worried the hell out of Yang Yang.

And so he decided to wait in front of the door, hoping Renjun would walk through.

After what felt like hours, the door finally opened. Yang Yang shot up and immediately engulfed the older in a hug, startling him slightly. "Hey Yang-"

"Are you okay? Hurt or whatsoever?", Yang Yang cut him off as he started looking for any bruises. The said one just laughed and pushed Yang Yang away slightly. "What's up with you?"

"Why would you go out at night, alone?!", Yang Yang ignored what Renjun had said and continued bombarding the older with questions, "Why did it take you so long to come back?"

Renjun sighed and ruffled his own hair frustratedly. "Look Yang Yang, I just went out to get some food and got lost okay? So I bumped into a dude and he offered me a ride to the police station, no need to worry."

"You're so stupid Renjun!", Yang Yang exclaimed, as he couldn't believe Renjun got in the car of a stranger, "He could've hurt you or worse!"

"Well he didn't", Renjun groaned loudly, "So stop acting like my mother." Yang Yang frowned "I was worried sick!", he still wouldn't let it go.

A sigh.

Renjun folded his arms over his chest and looked Yang Yang straight in the eyes. "I'm not stupid Yang Yang and I can take care of myself, I actually traded numbers with him and I'm going on a date with him tomorrow."

The frown on Yang Yang's face only got bigger. "A friendly date, right?"

Renjun shook his head slightly and Yang Yang could feel a pang in his heart. "Don't go on a date with him..", he whispered softly while approaching Renjun again.

"Why not, hm? I won't die."

"I know that", Yang Yang smiled sadly as he stopped right in front of Renjun. He couldn't believe the older, didn't they like each other? Everyone said the feelings they held for one another were obvious. Then why was Renjun going on a date with someone who's not him?

And right after Mark and Donghyuck had finally made up. Yang Yang thought everyone would get together after that, no more sad things.

Then why was this happening?

Many questions raced through Yang Yang's head as he looked away. "Just don't go."

"Then give me a good reason why", Renjun saw the way Yang Yang's lips quivered, how the tears threatened to roll down his face and the way he was shaking slightly.

And he felt his heart break a little.

But he quickly shook that feeling off, no. Yang Yang meant nothing to him anymore.

"B-Because I.. I love you.""

It was silent and with every second in which Renjun didn't answer, Yang Yang slowly felt his hope fade away. 

And Renjun.. Renjun did, and at the same time did not, expect this answer.

Renjun didn't know why, but he was afraid. Afraid of loving Yang Yang back, even though he did deep down. Renjun had only loved two people like that in his life. And he didn't want that to change.

He didn't need those butterflies in his tummy.

He didn't want those sparkling eyes.

He didn't like the love struck grin on his face every time he looked or just thought about Yang Yang.

He didn't accept those things in his life anymore.

Because he always ended up being hurt. Love never was on his side, because the two people he fell in love with, are now dating happily. Not knowing that what he now feels for Yang Yang, he used to feel for them.

First he thought that it would be good change. That it would be better if he finally found someone to be in a relationship with.

But no, he didn't want to risk it. He didn't want to give his heart away again.

When he walked back in and Yang Yang started to be so caring and worried, Renjun couldn't help but feel his heart beat faster again. He quickly shook it off and got annoyed by the feeling. How could he get over the younger if he was acting like that?

Maybe he could make Yang Yang hate him, making himself look like an uninterested dick would do the job.

The 'date' with the 'boy' was all fake, in reality Renjun had sat in the park for a long time. Thinking about his feelings and eventually convincing himself that he didn't need nor loved Yang Yang.

And so he finally opened his mouth, ignoring the way his own eyes teared up and the younger's tears fell.

"Maybe you shouldn't."
