Dahye POV
After pouring my heart out to Yoongi and crying for a good half an hour, I took a deep breath giving him a tired smile.
"Thanks," I said.
He smiled, "That's what boyfriends are for."
"You're not just any boyfriend though. Normal boyfriends don't rescue their girlfriends from imminent danger that could get them killed in seconds," I teased.
He smirked, "Then I guess I'm no ordinary boyfriend. Looks like you lucked out Miss Han."
I giggled, but then my ribs started to hurt.
I placed a gentle hand on them, giving a pained smile.
"Wow. He really did a number on you huh," Yoongi exhaled.
I nodded.
Yoongi's grim expression was replaced by an enthusiastic smile, "Well no matter because you'll heal. The real damage was done to them. You Miss Han Dahye, have rendered my father with only two generals and fifteen hundred latchers."
I gave him a curious look, "Two generals? What about Zelroth?"
He gave a cheeky smile, "You won't have to worry about him anymore. Your brother and I made sure of it."
I don't know why, but hearing that made another wave of emotion roll over me. I leaned back into Yoongi, crying a little bit more.
"Oh, Dahye there's one more thing I need to tell you. My father, once he put the shard in you, said that your battle would be in a week. I guess since we slept through a whole day you have six days to get ready. Not to rush you or anything because you need to rest. But just to warn you," he said.
Oh.
This day, that I had been waiting for since I was six. It was here.
I could feel something buzzing inside of me.
I gave Yoongi a smile, "Thank you for telling me. Umm, Yoongs, could you give me some time alone for a little bit. I just need to figure out when I should start training."
He nodded leaving me room.
I looked at my mirror.
Wow.
After thirteen years, we would finally battle each other again. After thirteen years, I would've completed my destiny.
My hands shook.
What if I'm not ready to? What if I don't want to leave this life behind?
No. None of that Dahye. There's no time for doubt. Whether or not you like it, the world only has you.
And with that thought, I decided that the fastest way to heal was to get blood moving through my system and to start moving more.
I weakly rolled over onto my side, using my bedside table as support. I slowly stood up, trying to obtain balance.
Every muscle advised me against walking, but I had to. I had to move. I had to do something. Anything. The fact that I wasn't out in the world was too much for me, but simply sitting by and waiting to heal, yeah no.
So I took a step. Success. I took another step, faltering slightly, but still standing up. It was like every fiber of my being was working against me to keep me from being upright, but I was fighting intensely.
I took another step, only to be overcome by exhaustion as my knees buckled and I collapsed to the ground.
With a loud thud I crashed into the ground, narrowly missing landing on my broken arm. Milliseconds later, a hairbrush on the edge of my dresser fell off too.
Yoongi came rushing into the room, worry all over his face.
"Woah what are you doing?! You're supposed to be in bed!" He exclaimed.
With his help, I stood back up, shooting him a weak glare.
"I'm fully capable of moving. If I'm not doing something then what the hell is my purpose?" I snapped.
"To stay alive idiot," he huffed.
I sighed, "Sorry. I guess I'm still a little jumpy."
Looking dejectedly at the room around me, I felt helpless and weak. But I took the opportunity to lean against Yoongi.
I let out a half-hearted laugh, "Look at this. Even in my greatest weakness, you're still right next to me to be my stability."
He looked at me thoughtfully before smiling playfully. He swept me off my foot, carrying me bridal style, being careful of my arm.
"Ahh oh my lord what are you doing?" I giggled.
He smirked, "I'm gonna be your transport system."
"Okay but watch for my bruises idiot!" I laughed.
He chuckled, carrying me out into the living room, making stupid sounds the entire time as if he were a car or something.
Being in his arms made me feel genuinely happy. Just the feeling of being surrounded by warmth made me feel fuzzy and safe.
I was having so much fun as he gently spun me around that I barely noticed the beaming faces of my family.
"Nice to see you up," my mom finally said.
I gave a small nod, still unsure of everything that was going on.
"Oh wait, we have a surprise for you!" Doyum excitedly bounced.
He grabbed the TV remote and turned on the TV, switching to the news channel.
"You hate the news kiddo, what're you doing?" I asked.
"Just watched," he shushed.
Yoongi laid me down on the couch, placing my legs on top of his and my dad's lap.
Doyum sat above me and my mom sat on the single person couch beside us.
Watching the TV blankly, my attention was captured by the crowds of people out in the streets.
Many were holding signs that read as such:
"Bring back Han!"
"The world needs our hero!"
"She's done it all, so let's show her we will too!"
"What on Earth is this?" I coughed. Never once in my life had I been so noticed before.
"Shhh let the news lady talk!" Doyum whined.
"Our top story today is a story of a true hero of our world. Han Dahye, located in Seoul, South Korea has garnered a lot of attention recently in many ways. Besides her enormous fears as a CEO in training at her father's company, she recently has taken the news by storm in many confusing ways. A conflict and argument between whether or not she was seen flying and fighting have been cause for question many times. But after recent events, all suspicions have been confirmed, but not in the way we think. Yes, it was Han Dahye who was flying and fighting in that image that the internet ate up, however she's far from some of the outlandish allegations many have called her out on. Some even to this day with the recent events have called her an 'alien' and a 'detriment to society' and that she should be 'turned in' to whoever needs her. While there are those people, many are standing behind the twenty-one year old saying that there's more to the story and that clearly she's trying to save the world from something that we could've never dreamed of. Some have commented that you see this kind of thing on TV but you never ever not even once would suspect that a fictional cartoon could become reality. Many are thankful for Han's presence in the world and have started to piece together the story of her heroic feats from childhood until now. Her family and her have not commented yet, but it is with an elated heart that I report that Dahye is safely back on Earth and is recovering from her injuries, this information courtesy of her company's official statement."
I breathed, "Wow, so that happened."
"Dahye, almost the entire world is on your side," my father said.
I looked to the members of my family.
The whole world is on my side.
Huh, never thought I'd say that sentence before.
