I know I can't take away your pain
But I wish I could take you somewhere beautiful
A place full of sunflowers and blue skies
And me
I wish it could just be us
Isolated from the terrors of the world
I know you're lost
And maybe the thought of leaving had crossed your mind
But would it be selfish if I asked you to stay?
I can't promise that it'll be okay
But I can promise to be by your side
For better or worse
Even if it never gets better
I wish I could hold you in my arms
Hide you from the world that destroyed you
I wish I could take your pain and give it to myself
Because your happiness is enough for me
I know I always say this
But I love you
I love loving you
Even on days when you can't love yourself
This is me promising to be your forever
Or maybe just your tomorrow
Because if tomorrow is all we have
I'll take you to a sunflower field
And kiss every inch of you
Love everything you are
Because you are my kind of perfect
So even if we only have tomorrow
I promise to be your forever
