Loving me isn't easy
Loving me means hearing me cry because I saw a puppy
And watching me breakdown because I'm overthinking
It means loving the scars that trace my body
And the wounds that trace my soul
Loving me means constantly reassuring me that I am what you want
Because the love I've previously received was anything but gentle
Loving me means dealing with my mood swings
It means that there will be days that I do not like you
And days where the thought of being away from you breaks me
And when I open my heart
Be gentle
Love me limitlessly
But with caution
Hold it in your hands like a newborn
But protect it like it is your own
Loving me means loving all of me
And if you do
My heart will be only yours
