When sunflowers can't find the sun
They turn towards each other
Finding the sun in each other
I always say I'm a sunflower
I always seem to find the good in everyone
Even if I have to search and search
I find the good in everyone
Just like I found the good in you
You were ripping apart my heart little by little
Like a child with a flower
She loves me
She loves me not
Until there was nothing left
Until you got tired
Until you got bored
You found someone better
More appealing
And flaunted her right in front of me
I had a dream about you last night
I was laying in your arms
And your arms started to get tighter and tighter
Until I couldn't breathe
Until it physically hurt
Until you broke me
And like a sunflower
I still woke up to find the good in you
I texted you a paragraph
Wishing you the best in your future
Telling you I missed you
Only to realize you'd already blocked me
You left me in the cold
Just like everyone else
I bet you're telling yourself I was the problem
Exploiting my best virtues to make then the worst
And turning my better qualities against me
In hopes that it'll cure the guilt you feel knowing
That someone like me
Loved everything about you
And the only thing you could do
Was leave me in the cold
Alone
To face myself in the mirror
Trying to find what little I had left
When sunflowers can't find the sun
They turn towards each other
But you left me in the code
Alone
Only to face the darkness that surrounded me
