34. Drama

 Thank you for all your votes and comments. I will update my stories in weekends as I am not at all free in my weekdays. So please bear with me. 

   I glared all the available draggers at Shikha who was sitting all innocently on Harshad's lap. Gunjan and me had scolded her for her act and her punishment is, she is not allowed to go outside. No watching TV for a month. 

   She cried hearing our scolding and Harshad was the first one who promised her that he will appease Gunjan and me. Shikha's tear stricken face made me want to forgive her, but if left then she will definitely repeat it. 

   I know, what she did was good, but fooling the watchman and going outside to save someone is not good according to me. She could have told her teachers and could go with them to help him. We all were still in hospital.

   "How is Aliya? Is she moving on?" I tensed hearing the enquiry about Aliya. I gulped and thought of lying. "Yes Gunjan, yesterday she went to Goa with her friends." I said and three heads whipped in my direction. 

   "What? Why didn't you inform me? Why didn't she inform me?" Harshad was bombarding with the questions. I could see Shikha narrowing her eyes at me. Mr. Saxena's expression matched Shikha.

   "Actually, she was not planning, but her school friend took her to Goa saying that she needs to be out of her depressing mood. You don't have to worry. By the time she comes she will be flying like butterfly." If my statement made me wrong I will be burned by the glares of Harshad and Mr. Saxena.

   "The patient is awake and he is asking for Shikha and Nandini. Others can wait for their turn." The nurse informed us and went away. I took Shikha's hand who held my hand. We entered the ward where Mr. Malhotra was resting. There was a cut on his forehead towards the left and his one arm was bandaged. 

   Shikha smiled at Mr. Malhotra as soon as she saw him. He smiled at her too, but when he saw me his smile dropped and there was guilt on his face. Shikha talked for sometime with him asking about his health and telling him what all punishments I gave her and then went away saying she will play in Harshad's mobile.

   I was about to follow Shikha when Mr. Malhotra's voice stopped me. "How are you?" was his first question. "Fantastic. Never have been better. Get well soon." I was about to go and then his voice again stopped me.

   "I am sorry for the words I spoke on that day. I just lost temper so.... I am sorry. I promise you, you will be safe." I laughed hearing him. "Mr. Malhotra you amuse me. First you kidnap me and then talk about protecting me. I definitely need protection, but not from others, but from you."

   I completed my sentence when Manik barged in. I had to act like I am hating him. He came towards his dad inspecting him and I stood there witnessing everything. At last he saw me and almost a smile escaped when I gestured Mr. Malhotra he nodded. "Thanks" he said and I finally was out of that ward.

   "You are not staying alone there. Pack your bags I am taking you to our mansion." a strict order came from Harshad. Shikha was sleeping on Gunjan's shoulder. We were in car and probably heading to Mansion.

    At last we reached and Harshad was raging. "Harshad, try to understand. The only reason I went to that mansion was media to make them believe that I am a daughter of Saxena but now there is no need." I said and Harshad was opening the door of entrance.

   "Yes, you are the daughter of Saxena so you can definitely stay there." His words were crystal clear as he entered the house keeping the keys over the TV stand. "I want to tell you a truth. I never wanted to come to that mansion and I still don't. That mansion reminds of the betrayal of Mr. Saxena."

    It was hard, but I had to continue. "It reminds me that I was a mistake for them. Yes, they never told me this, but my mother worked day and night to make a stable life and Mr. Saxena he didn't even knew till last 4 months a daughter existed for him. " I wiped the tear that had escaped from my eyes.

   "You know in PTM of my school, every parent used to come always some father used to come. Many of them asked me where was my father? On that day I started missing my father. You may not observe, but Mrs. Saxena feels really upset whenever she sees me. She may be happy, but I always portray the betrayal of her husband." She was really a gm. Accepting everything, even me which I could not do even in my life.

    Harshad wiped my tears which was flowing. He cupped my face and kissed my forehead. "I know it is difficult, but trust me no one can hate you. I tried hating you, but failed miserably. I will not force you to come, but when you want to come the door is always open." he said and smiled waving a bye to me.

     At night when Manik came he asked about the incident. I told him about it. "So we need to start searching for the proofs so first we will see the Facebook of Soha." I said and called my neighbour David. 

   David was a computer science engineering student who was good at computers. Even in just second year he hacked my wifi and was using it. I had come there to complain about it to his parents, I got to know his parents were usually not home as their always demanded travel.

   He needed internet for some project, as his data was over he was using mine. I got to know he hacked my wifi by his neighbour Lily. Lily was same year of his and same stream as his. They were rivals as they always used to fight from childhood.

   When I opened the door, both were glaring at each other and I was thinking how to prevent them from killing each other. "Hi?" I said and both smiled at me entering the house.

   "Manik, this is David. Cruz my neighbour and this is Lily. Gomez, his neighbour. Guys this is Manik. Malhotra, my....." I was struck and I didn't know what to call him. Was he my friend?, boyfriend? or Fiancé. 

     "Hi, I am Manik. Malhotra, Shikha's guardian." And when did that happen? I wanted to ask but shut my mouth as both the young members were literally blinking like a doll. "So, I had assigned you a work. What did you all find?" I asked.

Lily: When I was in L.K.G, he drank water from my bottle without permission.

David: She painted my books with 'a donkey picture which looked like a pig.'

Lily: I intended to draw pig so but if you prefer donkey then fine.

David: I wish you become lizard in next life. You will not need water.

Lily: I wish your heads fall into gutter. Oh sorry, your head already fallen inside the gutter.
