Sequel to The Anomaly. Serenity has introduced her navigator Taisallish, also known as Taisa, to her brother Jim. Romance ensues between the two, while Spock and Serenity raise their first child. Danger for both couples arise in the form of Khan...
The next day, after Serenity's permission, Taisa took Jim aboard the Blackout, and began to show him how she navigated her Captain's Starship. The Blackout had multiple stick shifts, allowing for smoother navigation, and it also allowed them to perform complicated manoeuvers that a Starfleet ship could not do. There was an electronic slide that they could use to choose what form the Blackout would take. That's when Jim learned just how much planning his older sister Serenity had done while making her sentient ship.
"You know what all these instruments do?! " Jim asked. He was liking this girl more and more. Now if he could just ask her-
"Yes, I do. Captain Serenity taught me, and I've been driving the Blackout since I was 7," Taisa explained. Jim eyebrows rose.
"Will you go out with me? Like on a date?" Jim blurted out. His face immediately flushed pink. Taisa looked up at him and chuckled.
"Of course Jim. I'd love to, " Taisa told him. A couple hours later before they arrived on Earth, Serenity helped Taisa get dressed for her date with Jim.
"What if he doesn't like me?! What if I make a fool of myself? Captain what if-" Taisa asked nervously.
"Now stop right there Taisallish! My brother may be a flirt, but he is an honorable man. He asked you out because he likes you. And you won't make a fool of yourself. Don't sell yourself short, Taisa. I know you will do great, " Serenity said, calming her down. "I was nervous too, when Spock first asked me on a proper date."
"Really? " Taisa asked. She looked up at her slightly blushing Captain.
"Indeed. He had been so panicked that he made a mess in the kitchen, and I was so flustered I almost couldn't speak a single word. We ended up just ordering food to our room and watched earth movies for a while, " Serenity remembered. Soon Taisa was ready . She wore a tea length purple dress, and her hair was in curly waves.

Taisa twirled in her dress and looked in the mirror. She took a deep breath.
"OK. I'm ready, " Taisa finally said.
"That's my girl! " Serenity beamed. "Now go get him."
"Yes Captain! " Taisa said playfully, mock saluting her adoptive mother. She literally skipped out of the room, feeling as if she was as weightless as the clouds. She nervously walked to the holodeck on level 3. Waiting there for her was Jim, who seemed to be wringing his hands. He stood up straighter, and as he saw her, his mouth dropped. She looked absolutely gorgeous, and he told her so. He led her to a candle lit table with spaghetti and meatballs, as well as wine. His culinary skills had gotten better, and after a bit of pleading, Serenity had taught him his favorite recipe of hers. For the first 10 minutes, all was quiet. Then Jim broke the ice by asking if Taisa cooked. Taisa told him yes, that she did, and that she loved to experiment a lot with food. Jim, asked if he could sample some of her food creations sometime, and at the end of the date, both were laughing happily.
