"Here it is! I found it!" Jim yelled, as he pulled the scroll out of it's hidden secret compartment behind the office door. "Just as she described it to me! " He placed it on the desk, and the three men rolled it out. The instructions were there, but in the form of a riddle.
"Damn it! Serenity knows I hate riddles!" Bones groaned.
"Man, three in number.
With the kiss from the heart of godly roman flame,
A hug from the bond of family blood ties,
And a toast from the skeleton man.
All join hands and chant together,
'Return back to us,
Lost soul of death maiden,
Light bring back our beloved Anomaly Queen.'" Jim read aloud.
"Heart of godly roman flame? Bond of family blood ties? Skeleton man?! What in the bloody hell does that even mean!? " Bones cried out. Spock looked at the scroll once more.
"I think I understand," Spock started to say. Bones snorted.
"Alright, you pointed eared genius, please explain, " Bones grumbled.
"Bones!" Jim warned.
"Man, three in number? We are three men who all knew her very personally. Heart of godly Roman flames? In Earth's history, the Roman mythological god of fire was named Vulcan. I am from the planet of Vulcan and she is my wife, " Spock began as he started to decipher the riddle.
"OK, continue.. " Jim encouraged his first officer.
"Bond of family blood ties? Serenity once told me of how you two met. She told me that was the day she vowed to always protect you, and she became your sister, " Spock continued on. Jim's eyebrows rose in astonishment.
"Oh my god! You're right Spock! " Jim exclaimed.
"And skeleton man? I'm almost too afraid to ask," Bones said sarcastically.
"Yes, that would be you, Doctor, " Spock stated. The three men did their best to carry out the instructions. At first, nothing happened.
"Nothing is happening! What did we do wrong?!" Jim asked nervously. Suddenly all of the Enterprise lights flickered on and off. A brilliant flash of light forced them to all close their eyes.
"You did it! I knew you could do it! " A feminine voice told them happily. Their eyes shot open at the sound of her voice.
"Serenity!" They all cried out. Jim immediately hugged his sister.
"Please don't do that again!" Jim pleaded. Serenity hugged him back. As Jim let go of his sister, Spock stepped forward and kissed her fiercely on her lips.
"I thought I lost you, forever, " Spock told her, a few stray tears rolled down his cheeks. "I love you, Serenity! "
"I love you too Spock, very much, " Serenity responded. Bones was pouring celebratory drinks, when he suddenly stopped, and his eyes went wide with understanding.
"OH! Now I get it! Damn you're good! To Serenity, who has safely returned back to us, and now here to stay!" Bones said, raising his glass in a toast. Both Jim and Spock copied Bones, and the four of them drank to always remember each other, and celebrated Serenity's return to the physical world.
