I was sitting in my room sorting some work Dottie, my beta, assigned me, until my mind started wandering. I was thinking about all the fun memories my mother and I had.
-
"Mommy! I don't want to go in the water, there are sharks in there!" I said frightened,
My mother just looked at me, nodded, and said, "Yeah, the megalodon is going to eat you alive! And you'll live your life, swimming in his stomach!"
-
I cried, being scared, and my mother just laughed. Of course, now I realize she was just teasing me for being scared, but since that day, I haven't learned how to swim. Not that anyone knows, we don't have any swimming pools in a carved-out cave.
My mind started to drift off, thinking of all the amazing smells above ground, without bats flying everywhere. Thinking about how I could've enjoyed some amazing meat, but for some reason had returned to that human. He didn't have any connection to me, yet I still treated him kindly. Why?
I hear loud banging.
I open my door as Blaze and Rylan follow behind me, ready to attack whatever is behind the door.
As I open the door a see a G.F soldier, who looks worried as he takes off his helmet. He had a familiar face, I noticed, but before I realized what was going on Blaze stabbed him with a knife in the arm to weaken him.
"Blaze stand down."
"Y-Yes Alpha." he said worried, "But Alpha, he has Dottie!"
I turned to face him myself, "Why do you have her?" I said in a mean tone. He looked around,
"I-I she collapsed right in front of me, I think she needs help!" said the worried man in front of me.
"Rylan you can take Dottie to the infirmary, I'll be busy, but I'll stop by later."
-
I sat him down at the chair across from my desk and sat down at my chair.
"Why did you help her?" I said in a confused tone,
"Why did you not kill me?" he said in a not-so confused tone while holding his arm.
"Because you helped her, now answer my question," I said leaning over my desk, desperately trying to intimidate him.
"She looked injured, who in their right mind wouldn't help a injured person?"
"How did you know where to go?" I asked after a few seconds of thinking.
"I saw light coming out from a pile of hay, I believe that's what it was at least, maybe it was cut grass..." he said not showing any feeling of being scared of me.
"Why are you so confident I won't hurt you?" I asked menacingly.
"You're not scary," he said, and laughed. I blushed a bit but turned around to hide it, why is he so adorable?!
-
I was waiting at Alpha's door to let her know Dottie was safe, and it was worrying me that it was taking so long to interrogate the human.
What if we are in trouble? What would we do if our 'den' was invaded by the G.F? I should've asked these questions sooner.
If we are unsafe, then that means Alpha would protect us, right? Yes, Alpha would.
"Alpha? Are you okay in there?" I said checking, what if the human hurt Alpha?
She opened the door, looking like there was pink sprinkled on her cheeks.
"Alpha? Why are your cheeks pink?"
"Gah! Blaze leave me alone, I'm fine, I can handle myself," and with that she shut the door.
-
Aaron looked at me with a weird look on his face.
"Pink cheeks huh?" and smirked.
I just growled and twitched my ears, making him laugh.
"So, are you going to let me go eventually?" he said seriously.
"I need to know you wont reveal our hiding place," I said pacing around the room.
"Relax, I wont tell anybody Alpha," making me blush a small bit. I never blush when Blaze or Daniel call me Alpha, so how come when he does, I blush?
"Do you trust me?" he asked. I felt as if I could, but that doesn't seem smart. He and I have had two interactions. How do I let myself trust him like that?
"Can I get some time to think?" I asked him,
"Of course," he said, comforting me.
-
He was waiting outside my room, and I could hear his muffled talking with the wolf pups. I've decided I trust him, but that wasn't my concern anymore. I was more concerned about what the pack would think if I trusted him like that.
I decided that I could trust him, and let him go live his own life. Besides, we didn't hurt him, so what would make him want to turn us in?
Well, we did hurt him. But that's besides the point.
I opened the door and he looked at me, hope in his eyes, but I wasn't sure what for. I told him, "You can leave, just cover the door up after you."
He nodded and walked off with Rylan leading him.
I saw Blaze staring at him wide-eyed, "Alpha? You're just letting him walk off like that?"
"Yes, Blaze, I am," and I closed my door, running my fingers through my hair. The stress lately hasn't been fun. When my mother passed away I took up all of her responsibilities, not wanting to trouble anyone else in the pack.
Instead, I just... added more trouble for myself. All this stress was affecting me, but I never wanted to show it. All this darkness in a black world.
