"Rayna?"
Night had fallen and Rayna felt as though she had just walked one massive loop around the City of Angels.
But one voice snapped her out of her daze.
"Amenadiel?" She looked up, seeing her lover's brother, his eyes filled with concern.
"Where have you been? Lucifer's had search parties out looking for you." The Angel approached her, holding her at arm's length.
"Does he know? Did Linda tell him?" She asked frantically.
"Tell him what?" Amenadiel frowned.
Rayna looked around, she hadn't noticed that the sky was pitch black.
"How long have I..." She trailed off, still half in a haze.
"You've been missing almost ten hours." The brother told her.
"Oh God..." Rayna breathed, fresh tears threatening to spill.
"Come with me."
Rayna nodded, not wanting to protest or make a scene.
Amenadiel tucked her under his arm, leading her to a nearby café.

The pair sat down as Amenadiel passed her a cup of coffee.
But Raya simply stared aimlessly out of the window, once again in her own little bubble.
"What happened Rayna? You can tell me." His voice was deep and soft, like a freshly plumped pillow for the Heretic to fall into.
"I haven't quite told myself yet, let alone anyone else." Rayna replied in monotone, stirring the boiling coffee with her index finger, not caring that it burned her.
But Amenadiel noticed and took her hands in his.
"This is clearly destroying you. You need to tell someone." He said.
For a few moments, the only sounds were that of the late night kitchen staff packing up for the night.
The Heretic mentally prepared herself for the words about to leave her mouth. She knew, as soon as she said them, that it would all be real and all be true.
"I'm pregnant." She whispered.
Amenadiel furrowed his eyebrows.
"But I thought Vampires couldn't..." He didn't finish the sentence.
"That's not exactly the point right now Amenadiel. You don't get it. I'm pregnant. I've only been with one person in four hundred years." Tears leaked down the Heretic's face like morning dew on a window pane.
She simply watched as Amenadiel's expression went from that of deep concern, to unadulterated shock.
"Oh my..." He gasped.
"He's not ready to be a father; I know that, we all know that. He doesn't even want to be. He despises kids. Hell, I don't even know what I'm pregnant with." Rayna choked out. "Nevermind how it happened."
"We'll work something out Rayna." Amenadiel touched her hand gently with his. "I promise."

After finishing up in the café, Amenadiel led Rayna back to Lucifer's apartment, deciding to keep their little revelation to themselves for the meantime.
The elevator at Lux pinged on the Penthouse level and the pair exited swiftly, instantly catching the eyes of the Devil, his mother, the Demon, the Doctor and the Detectives.
"Rayna." He breathed a grin, putting down his Scotch glass to open his arms wide. She ran into them, instantly bursting into tears as buried her face into his shoulder. "I've been so worried about you."
"I'm so sorry..." Rayna whispered, her chest heaving with emotion.
"It's okay. You're safe now." Lucifer mumbled into her hair, his breath tickling the back of her neck.
He then looked up to his older brother, giving him a small, grateful nod.
Amenadiel simply smiled and nodded in return.
Lucifer parted from his love, but held her at the elbows.
"Where on Earth did you go?" He asked in a rather desperate tone.
"I... Went for a walk – got lost." Rayna sighed.
She could see that Lucifer knew she wasn't being entirely honest, be he also knew that she would tell him in her own time.
"Well I'm glad to see you're okay." Chloe touched Rayna's shoulder, reassuringly.
"You had us all worried for a minute there, Lady Dracula." Maze smirked, twirling one of her Karambit blades on her finger, aimlessly.
"Aww, Maze. Didn't know you cared." Rayna chuckled.
"Well I guess we're not needed anymore." Chloe clapped her hands together, looking between Maze, Dan and Linda.
"Drinks downstairs?" Maze pointed towards the elevator.
Everyone nodded, leaving Rayna, Lucifer, the Goddess and Amenadiel.
As soon as the elevator doors closed, expressions changed.
The Goddess looked almost empty and Lucifer appeared as though he was going to collapse.
"Luci? What's wrong?" Amenadiel asked.
"Brother..." The Devil started, he began to pant with stress. "I've... Done something terrible..."
A heavy tear ran quickly down the Goddess' face.
"You both may want to sit down for this." Her voice cracked.
Rayna and Amenadiel did so, the Heretic guiding Lucifer down with her, in fear for his balance.
"My brother Uriel was here." Lucifer told Rayna. "He made me choose between returning mum to Hell and sacrificing the Detective's life. I tried to sway him, Amenadiel tried, Azrael's blade was here, I couldn't stop myself." He turned his gaze to his brother. "Uriel's dead."
The Goddess choked out her tears, clutching her throat and abdomen.
"Luci..." Amenadiel gasped. "How could he do this?"
"Lucifer was just trying-."
"No mom, not Lucifer; Father." Amenadiel's voice softened. "How could he let this happen?"
"Son, it's okay. Just let it out." The Goddess, for whatever reason, kept her distance. "Let it all out."
"I blame father for this." Amenadiel's tone grew cold. "I've tried, mom, but where is he? If he wanted to, he could've prevented all of this from happening. All the misunderstandings, all the pain. Well I'm done. I'm done trying to please someone who isn't even here."
With that, she walked over and hugged her son tightly around his neck. Instantly, his hands found her back.
"Come on. I think these two need their alone time. They have much to talk about." She practically whispered to him before parting to give Lucifer one last hug.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you today." Rayna said as they spooned in bed later that night.
"You couldn't have known, my love." Lucifer sniffed, kissing her white hair as he wrapped his arm round her tighter.
"If only I hadn't run off. I could've stopped all of this..." Rayna was more speaking to herself now, than the man beside her.
"No. You can't blame yourself. This is my fault. I got too attached to the Detective and it's my fault mum's out of Hell."
"You couldn't have known either." Rayna rolled over, looking him in the eye as the dimness of the city's light pollution decorated half their faces with red ambience.
"I'm so glad you're okay." He nodded to her, cupping her cheek in his palm.

Hours later, Rayna watched as Lucifer slept, focusing on his chest rising and falling with each peaceful breath.
'How am I going to tell him?' She thought, using the side of her index finger to push a few strands of his hair to the side.
If she hadn't known better, she would've called his appearance in that moment angelic – in a way, it was – a fallen angel was still an angel, of course.
