A/N: Hi, don't feel like you need to be a silent reader. I love hearing from everyone. Comment with kindness.

O - O - O

Niobe had secluded herself to her room. She hoped to reach out to Anakin again. As she knelt down onto a pillow, her com-link alerted her of a new message. She brought the device in front of her. While she began the hologram, Steve walked into her room.

"Niobe, I need you to come to Tatooine as soon as you can," Obi-wan said. "Anakin is no longer to be trusted. He is no longer. Darth Vader has taken his place. If need be, I will find a way to reach you. All I ask is you put your faith in me."

Niobe turned off the com-link. She let out a sigh. What if he was right? Instead of offering a response, she tucked the com-link away and closed her eyes.

"I need to reach out, Steve. You may stay if you would like, but from here on I will be meditating in silence," Niobe said.

She heard Steve sit on the unused mattress in the corner of her room. She took an inhale and let the world around her slip away. Niobe felt the tug on her mind and responded.

Silver walls and red carpeting unfolded around her. Over her shoulder, she heard his voice.

"Anakin," she said.

 "Anakin," she said

She faces him. He looked no different from the last time she had seen him, but there was a chill around him.

"Niobe," he said. "I am so glad you're alive."

She hugged him, ignoring the feeling in the pit of her stomach telling her to run. This was Anakin, not some monster.

"I am no longer in our galaxy," she said. "My ship has been destroyed, and you know how skilled I am at engineering."

Her heart warmed at his laugh. He had always been the one to rescue when she broke equipment.

"What is the world like?" He asked.

"Similar to Naboo with Coruscant machines and buildings," she said. "Obi-wan...he contacted me. He said Padme has passed. Tell me he is wrong."

His eyes darkened. In his silence, her heart shattered. Niobe stepped back. She wanted to scream. Anakin wrapped her up before she could fall. This war had become too much.

"I know, I know," he said.

"The baby too?" She asked.

Niobe felt his nod. She gasped for air that did not quite reach her lungs.

"Who?" She asked.

"Obi-wan," he said.

Niobe broke away from Anakin. Disbelief on her face. She shook her head.

"Obi-wan could never," she said.

"He is lying to you, Niobe. The Jedi have manipulated us," he said. "He turned Padme against me. Against the Republic. When she saw the truth, that Obi-wan lied to her, he killed her in front of me. Everything we knew was a lie."

He grabbed Niobe's arms. His hands were tight against her skin.

"The Jedi had planned to take control, to create an empire of their own," he said. "So many systems were already under Jedi manipulation. Palpatine had to overrule everyone. We have to return order to the galaxy."

Niobe began to hyperventilate. This was too much. How could this be true? She willed herself away from him, forcing herself back into her current reality. Niobe fell to her hands, gasping in between sobs.

"Obe!" Steve said.

He brought her to his chest. She felt as though her world was ending all over again. Each time she was exposed to the missing pieces of what occurred the ache opened up worse than before.

The two remained until her sobs came to an end. She pulled away from him, wiping tears from her eyes.

"What happened?" Steve asked.
