It's been a couple of days since Jasmine got transferred to another department. Now she's a gaming booth cashier. I have literally only worked two shifts without her and it already isn't the same. Lily has felt so extremely guilty, she apologizes every time she sees Jasmine.
Things have just been...out of whack. There is no better way to say it.
Not only that, but Jasmine has been acting really weird around me. I wonder if I freaked her out with my opening up about my past. I agreed to meet with her today, she said she needed to talk with me about something important. I admittedly am very nervous about it.
"CJ what is the worst that can happen? Even if she said she never wanted to see you again, it's not like you'd really care." Catherine said looking at her laptop screen. I turn to her from the mirror.
"Actually, I do maybe...care about her." I say, scrunching my face waiting for Cat's exaggerated reaction.
Cat looks up from her laptop screen, a small 'o' formed with her mouth.
"Okay, but like don't freak out. I still don't know if I'm ready for that."
"CJ!" She extended the last part of my name in annoyance.
"I know Cat but I just... I don't know! It's been years since I felt anything for anyone you know that." I responded.
"I know I know but, I think you should be more open to the idea." She replied.
"I am trying, at least, now I think I am." I said honestly.
And then Cat made the exaggerated squealing noise I originally anticipated.

I waited for Jasmine, then saw her pull up to the curb in the car. When I got in she had a nervous look on her.
"Hey Jas, are you alright?" I asked.
"Yeah I'm fine. Do you mind if I just park somewhere so we can sit and talk?"
"Sure." I replied, now more nervous than before by her demeanour.
Once we parked in the back of a decently empty parking lot of a park, she turned the vehicle off, unbuckled her seatbelt, and turned to me.
We stayed in an uncomfortable silence for a couple seconds.
"So what is it you wan-"
Jasmine cut me off.
"I'm really into you. Like..really into you."
I just stared at her, words unable to form in my mouth.
"I need to say it. I mean you knew I felt something when we slept together the first time, but it's getting really hard to even have a conversation with you." Jasmine let out.
"I-I don't know what to say." I responded.
"You told me already that you didn't feel what I did but, I just don't think that's true." She replied.
"How would you know what I feel?" I said, frustrated by her confidence.
She moved in closer. I tried not to let my nerves show.
"I can sense it, the way you get nervous around me, how you crumble under my touch."
All my frustration now turned to tension because of her hand place on my thigh, seemingly innocently.
She was right I fall apart just under her intense gaze, let alone her hand electrifying my skin.
Within seconds, she meets my lips in a hungry kiss. I don't hesitate to reciprocate her actions. Her hands now wandering over my clothes. I couldn't wait, in this moment it felt like I needed her more than ever before.
