I have not really seen Jasmine since she stayed over last week. She has been pretty busy with her family since her dad hasn't been feeling too well lately. She got the week off to deal with everything so I decided to surprise her after work with some flowers. I picked up a really pretty and brightly coloured bouquet from a shop near by, then went to her house. I didn't tell her I was coming so I just went straight to the door and knocked.
The door opened revealing my gorgeous girlfriend, but her features were much more tense than usual, she was evidently very stressed. Her features did relax slightly at the sight of me.
"Sorry if I'm interrupting babe, I just wanted to drop these off and make sure you're doing okay."
She gave a weak smile and pulled me in for a hug. I held her tightly, knowing she needed it.
"Thank you beautiful, I really needed that." She spoke pulling back and taking the flowers.
She then continued, "I would offer for you to come inside but it's a mess and the situation isn't pretty, I slept like 3 hours last night."
She sighed in defeat, closing the door behind her and stepping out further. I put my hands on either side of her arms, rubbing the exposed skin with my thumb.
"You go do what you have to do, but please don't forget to take care of your self. Do you need help?" I asked her.
She put a hand over mine.
"Thank you for the offer but right now, there isn't much more to really be done, just wait around and help my dad when he needs it."
I sighed in defeat as well, hoping she would accept my help. Though I know she hates to think of burdening someone else with her struggles.
"You know I'm here if you need literally anything, do not hesitate to call me." I said pecking her lips slowly.
"I love you." Jasmine replied.
Those words never fail to give me intense butterflies.
"I love you too."
"And thanks for the flowers you softy." Jas added as I began to walk away. I laughed and waved one final goodbye.

I walk into work and see Jasmine there, she didn't mention when I saw her yesterday that she would be here. She looked disheveled and tired as hell.
She turned and saw me walking into the locker room.
"Hey beautiful." She pecked me on the cheek.
"Hi baby, you feeling okay?"
I was concerned, I have never seen her this exhausted.
"I barely slept but I got to take a power nap this morning, my tia Andrea came to visit and saw how my dad was and I told her what's going on. She insisted on staying today and tonight to help so I could work and sleep. I can't afford to miss anymore shifts."
I held her hand as she told me the story and by the end her grip loosened from just lacking energy.
While on the shift, Jasmine lacked her usual charisma. Like, five girls flirted with her and she didn't even give them her little smirk, she was just...quiet. Non-responsive. Lily came up to me to ask what was going on.
"Hey CJ, are you and Jasmine alright?" She asked me.
"Yeah, it's not really my place to talk about her situation, but she's just really sleep deprived and stressed." I replied honestly.
