"Okay CJ I get it, all you wanted was a hook up, no need to fucking rub it in my face that you don't give shit about me."
Then I guess she noticed my motionless self in shock.
"What's wrong?"
"T-thats my uncle." I stuttered.
"Oh, go say hi then." She spoke nonchalantly.
"You don't understand" I said slowly turning to her.
"He can't know I'm here." I finished.
I noticed him getting closer to the bar, so I panicked and ducked under so he could not see me.
"Dude, what the fuck is going on."
In that moment I knew the only person who could help me was Jasmine. Lily was too close to where my uncle was standing, and no one else knew my situation. Jasmine did not know but I had more trust in her than any other person here right now, so I guess it's time for her to learn about everything.
I peer over the counter to see his back towards us. I grabbed Jas' arm and pulled her through the backdoor, straight to the lockers for some privacy.
"My mother is a batshit crazy perfectionist who didn't care about us, and my dad is an abusive alcoholic." I spat out quickly, as if I had only seconds to tell her.
She stared at me, confused, concerned.
I continued, "Catherine and I escaped the abusive situation and came here on our own without telling anyone in our family. They cannot know I'm here. If my uncle sees me, he'll tell my father and they'll come after us."
I had not realized a tear fell from the corner of my eye until Jasmine put her hand on my cheek to wipe it away. She pulled me into her chest tightly.
"I am so sorry. I never thought that would be the reason you and your sister were here alone." Her concerned words were enough to push the pool of water right out of my eyes.
I cried into her chest as she held me, running her fingers comfortingly through my hair. In this moment, I felt what it was really like to let go of all the pent up emotions and fear.
"Don't worry we'll get you out of here. Does Lily know about all this." Jasmine said.
I look up at her and nodded. She held me by the shoulders giving me a stern nod before running out quickly, I presume to tell Lily what's going on.
Minutes later of me pacing back and forth, Lily and Jasmine enter the room.
"Oh my god CJ leave right now! Not even a question, you need to stay out of sight." Lily stated in a concerned manner, bringing me into a hug.
"I'll drive her home, then come back." Jasmine offered.
"It's fine I'll take the bus, he's in here anyway I doubt he'll go outside and see me waiting."
"Not taking any chances let's go." Jas says sternly.
I gave Lily one last weak smile before walking out with Jasmine.
I step out the door and of course with my luck, I am face to face with yet another O'leary family member.
My cousin Thomas.
"Clarissa?" He spoke, clearly very confused.
Jasmine and I both paused and could not find words to speak.
"What are you doing here? I didn't know you guys moved."
"Hi Thomas, long time no see." I forced a smile and he approached to give me a hug.
