(Brief mention of past cutting. If you want to skip it, it starts after these four //// and ended after another four of ////)

And then that moment ended.

Izuku had been exhausted, after the sleepover. They were lucky the next day was a Sunday, they had no training. Of course Izuku protested about his schedule and cheat day and other mumbles that no one heard, so they did the only rational thing in that situation.

They squished themselves onto on him, a pile of people keeping him down on the ground. He had sighed and related until everyone curled under the blankets again and lazily watched a few Disney movies. The innocence of childhood.

It was a day full of yawning and naps, curled close around each other. Aizawa stayed with Eri as she bounced between each person, a bundle of life and joy. And when she started whispering during her nap, the first person at her side was Izuku who settled her as easily as he did to the rest of the group, when he held their hands as they cried, or cuddled away their fears.

So giving, they all thought.

But Izuku had only recognised the hurt of another, the pain of someone who had gone through something traumatic alone and responded as he had wanted others to do, even just once, for years. Until he had finally given up on hoping. He wouldn't let Eri experience the same.

The heat day dawned bright and glaring, as Monday's always were. They were happy they were in the hero course or else the morning could have been a lot more boring. They went through the normal classes, and by lunch, they were all brimming with excitement for the mystery teacher who was helping conduct the hero field class. They would be fighting against whoever it was, but they had no idea as to who would be better to fight against than All Might. Although, none of them wanted to so much as poke him wrong because they loved him too much.

The class eventually came, every student standing to full attention. Even Mineta had paused in his leering at the girls to look around wondering who it would be.

Aizawa walked into the training area, a scowl set on his features as if he was stuck smelling garbage for ages.

"Alright everyone, I expect the best behaviour from you all for our... guest. We originally had Hawks coming for training," he stopped as a chorus of excited cheers filled the room, slowly dying out as he continued speaking. "Ahem. As I was saying, he was unable to fulfil his role today and has apologized. Countless times, ugh so annoying," Aizawa's whispered mumble could barely be heard, only some ears picking him up. "Thankfully, we have another hero who was willing to fill in at short notice." The sarcasm dripped from his downturned lips.

Before Aizawa had even finished speaking, a flaming Endeavor strutted into the room, encompassing everything with heat. People shuddered, a chorus of whispers passing along the class. Most slumped in disappointment, but Izuku's was the most bizarre out of everyone's.

His grin spread across his face, not unlike how Aizawa smiled, as if he was a cat who had caught a canary. It was sharp, brittle, as a piercing thing that stopped everyone in their tracks.

Izuku glanced over to Todorki and Bakugou quickly before stepping towards Todoroki. He touched his arm lightly, talking quietly to him as Bakugou stomped over. Todoroki was tense as a stone, his eyes sad and scared, a gazelle in the trap of a lion.

Everyone wondered what they were talking about, but continued chatting amongst themselves as Aizawa and Endeavor had a glare off.

**********

"Tomorrow, listen to me. Look at me." A voice pierced through the thick fog surrounding his head, bringing him back out of the memories of training.
