Izuku was nervous.
Then again, he was usually nervous over something, even if today was just about revealing his scars. Which, yes, was making him panic slightly.
Shouto stood behind him as he looked in the mirror, rubbing along his back and over his shoulders, the tension leaving his muscles as those skilled hands ran over his body.
Sighing, he tried to pull the sleeves of his short-sleeved t-shirt down, but he barely moved.
Todoroki seemed to know what was going through his head, kissing his head as he said, "They are just your battle scars Izuku. You are perfect, with or without them. Didn't Recovery Girl say she might be able to heal them?"
Izuku's eyes welled with tears, sniffling. He turned into the other's chest, pulling him to him.
"Yeah, she did. I just… I want to keep them because they are proof that I lived… and fought. And didn't give up. I'm just… scared."
"They aren't going to think any differently of you, bunny." Todoroki drew back to push some of his hair away from his eyes, a small glint in his eyes as Izuku began to smile at the pet name he had given his… almost-boyfriend?
"I know! It's just my mind won't accept that so it's still going to be anxious until it's over."
"That's okay."
Todoroki nuzzled into Izuku's head once again, running gentle hands along his arms and over his shoulders, where he knew more scars lay in hiding. It was a big day for Izuku, but Todoroki knew he was strong enough to do it.
A knock on the door startled them apart, Izuku laughing, rubbing the back of his neck and rolling his eyes when Todorki glared at the door.
He hopped over to the door, opening it wide, forgetting for a second that his arms were bare.
"Izuku, I-" Bakugou stopped, eyes drawn to Izuku's wrists, his expression twisting violently at the scars that lay there, small but deep, tiger stripes criss crossing his wrists.
Izuku saw the hurt in his eyes before his face went back into neutrality and grabbed his own wrist tightly.
"What are you doing here Bakugou?" Todoroki asked before Izuku could, tone hostile and tense. Izuku had told Todoroki the story of his past soon after their almost kiss… he had to let the other know what he was getting into. Surprisingly, Todoroki had taken it well- he only nearly killed Bakugou five times since then.
"I need to talk to Izuku," he replied stiffly. Todoroki looked to Izuku. Izuku knew Shouto would respect his decision either way, so he nodded.
"Don't dare hurt him."
With that, Todoroki left.
Bakugou stepped through the doorway, settling on the edge of his bed while Izuku sat at his desk.
"So Bakugou, what's this about?" His voice was steady but the thrumming of his fingers against his legs betrayed his nerves. Yet, even though Bakugou could sense this, he didn't address it.
"Izuku, I really am sorry. I just came here to apologise again. I know I've caused you more pain than you ever deserved," his gaze straying to Izuku's arms, "and you probably won't accept my apology. Which would be fair. It would hurt of course but after the dust has settled, you have no reason to trust me."
Izuku looked at Bakugou, his earnest crimson eyes staring holes into the other boy, and he couldn't help but wilt. It wasn't pressure or anything of the sort. Bakugou held no control over Izuku anymore, something Izuku had realised a long while ago.
