"Hi Welcome to Portland Private High School," a nasally woman greets us.
"We are here to pick up our schedules," I smile.
"Names please?" She doesn't bother to look up from her computer screen. She is busy typing away.
"Elizabeth Downing and Amy Smith," Liz speaks up. She stands up from and walks away without saying a single word to us.
"Bitch," Liz mutters under her breath just loud enough for me to hear. I start to giggle causing Liz to giggle. The lady walks back into the room and glares at us.
"Here are your schedules and a map," she hands us a packet of papers. "A student should be here soon to give you a tour of the campus and they will give you all the information that you need"
She sits back down at her desk and continues to work making it clear that we can leave. We walk through the rest of the office until we reached the courtyard, according to the map. There were a few students walking around but they were all in their groups. That is one thing that I didn't miss; having a group that you belonged with and the social hierarchy of high school. Liz will have no problem fitting in. I just hope that I will be able to fit in.
"I hope our tour guide is cute," Liz speaks up. I can't help but laugh.
"And if it is a girl?" I ask.
"Then let's hope she isn't a bitch," Liz starts to giggle.
"Sorry I am so late," Logan calls out to us. I turn and see him walking up to us. He stops walking and his eyes grow wide when his meet mine.
"W-wow," he stutters. He gingerly moves towards me. "You look beautiful"
"Thanks," I mutter staring down at my shoes. Liz scoffs and rolls her eyes.
"We are waiting for our tour guide," she tells Logan, clearly annoyed that he is here.
"I am the tour guide," he smirks and winks. My heart melts a little.
"Oh great. Let's go," she rolls her eyes again.
"I'm happy you are showing us around," I smile. He takes my hand in his and squeezes it.
"I'm glad that someone appreciates me," he directs it towards Liz before turning to wink at me, causing me to blush. "Liz I'll show you where your history class is first."
We begin our walk through the courtyard in silence. More people have shown up and the hallways start to get crowded and louder.
"This way," Logan tells us right when we are about to turn left and Liz almost runs into some guy.
"Watch where you are going," he glares at her before he continues to head into the direction that he was going in.
"Thanks Logan," Liz spits out. I was trying so hard to not laugh at her. Logan just shrugs and we keep walking with Liz trailing behind us.
"Your class is right here," Logan opens the door for her. She turns and looks at me and smiles.
"Good luck"
"You too," I tell her before she disappears into the classroom. "Where to now?"
"English," he smiles.
"We are in the same class?" I ask.
"Yes," he gives me a look.
"What's that look for?" I challenge him.
"Oh nothing," he tries to shrug it off but smiles.
"Tell me," I playfully bump my shoulder into him.
"You'll see," he grins. I instantly start to freak out. I don't like surprises and the fact that he won't tell me makes me think he is up to something. We walk into our English classroom and we are the first people there.
"Hey Mr. Sanders this is Amy," Logan calls out to a brown haired man wearing black square glasses and a flannel. He looks up from his book and smiles at me.
"It's so great to have you here at our school."
"Thanks it's good to be here," I smile back. Logan takes a seat up front next to Mr. Sanders desk.
"Amy I'm going to have you sit up front and Logan is going to sit behind you. Right now we are reading Huck-Finn, by any chance have you read it?"
"She's been reading it along with me," Logan speaks up before I get the chance. I shoot him a glare.
"What?" he raises his hands.
"I can speak for myself." Mr. Sanders chuckles at us.
"Sorry," he shrugs as he moves to the seat behind me.
"Don't make me regret this decision of putting you two next to each other Logan," Mr. Sanders tells Logan without looking up from his book.
"Yes sir," he winks at me.
The fifty minutes that we have for each class period went by quickly. I followed Logan from class to class. During fourth period, I received a slip from the office. Apparently they made a mistake with my classes and I was given the choice to either keep my fifth class or to drop it. In a heartbeat, I decided to drop it. The academic advisor apologized multiple times for the mix up. Right before I left she asked me if I did any sports. When I told her no, she told me to think about joining one.
When I left the front office, I couldn't help but chuckle at their mistake. I'm sure Blake made a few calls when she saw how disappointed I looked when she told me the news. I reached into my backpack for my cell phone. While I was in the meeting, the bell rang and I was done for the day. I pulled out my phone and saw that I had two messages.
Logan: where are you?
Unknown: you're welcome ;)
