There he stood. A big part of my past that I kept from Logan. His black hair was long and it was perfectly swept back like he had been running his fingers through his hair. He stands there with one hand in his pocket and the other hand is holding his phone.
"Hey you must be Dillon," Logan greets him. I silently follow Logan staring at the ground.
"Yeah, Logan right?" he asks. My phone vibrates and I take it out of my pocket.
Liz: U ok?
"Yeah, nice to meet you man" Logan releases my hand and extends it. As they shake hands I take the chance to text Liz back.
Me: fine
"This is Elizabeth-"
"You can call me Liz," she smiles before looking back down at her phone.
Liz: U sure?
"And this is my girlfriend Amy"
I look up from my phone and our eyes lock together. Normally I can read his expression easily but today I can't.
"Nice to meet you," he finally says.
"Hey Logan I totally forgot that I have to meet up with Mr. Sanders. I'll see you in class," I smile.
"Yeah sure," he leans down and kisses me. "I'll see you in a bit."
I link my arm through Liz's and drag her with me. We quickly make our way through the courtyard to the halls.
"So now can I know?" Liz asks.
"It's complicated," I state. I start to pace back and forth in front of Liz's locker. Shit. Why is he here? How did he know that I would be here? There is no way that this is a coincidence. He wouldn't have tracked me down. He said he wanted to focus on the home.
"What's wrong Amy?" Liz asks. I shake my head, trying to figure this out. Liz reaches out and firmly grabs my shoulders.
"Who is he?" Liz asks.
"I can't tell you," I whisper.
"Yes you can. You can trust me Amy," she releases me. "You're my sister now and I am going to do everything in my power to protect you."
"I'll explain this to you when we get home," I mumble.
"You pinky promise," she holds her pinky finger up.
"Yes." I lock our fingers together.
"I kinda want to ditch," Liz states. I look at her and start to laugh.
"What?"
"We can't and you say that every day."
"I know," she winks at me. "You should go to class. You don't need to be lying to Logan."
We part ways and I walk towards my class. I haven't heard anything about Bruce. He has completely fallen off the radar. I feel like it is too good to be true that he has given up. But there is still the unknown person that keeps sending me text messages. I walk into class and take a seat. My head started to throb.
"Is everything okay Amy?" Mr. Sanders asks.
"Not really," I close my eyes and rub my temples.
"I have actually been wanting to talk to you. I didn't realize that you lived in an orphange for most of your life."
I let out a sigh and open my eyes. "Only a select few know that," I tell him.
"Amy please know that you can come and talk to me anytime you need to."
