I should be done by now but honestly I'm nervous. I don't know what to expect from Mrs Mhlongo, I'm not ready for some words again-bad names. I closed my eyes listening to music, that's what keeps me same lately in this house. I sang along until my phone rang,I tried as much as I can to avoid it but it was too much. I accepted the call without looking at the Caller ID
"I'm outside your house,two houses away"His deep voice made my sat up immediately and I cleared my throat
Me:"You're here already?"I asked
Nhla:"Yes, don't tell me you ain't here"he breaths that out
Me:"I..I.. Well... Nipho I.. I'm not meeting up with Your Mom"I say biting my lip
Nhla:"What do you mean by that?"He asked sounding worried,I could sense it in his voice.
Me:"I'm scared Nipho, I'm really scared"I say to him. He sighed, deeply.
Nhla:"I know sweetheart,I.. I'll be there, hence I'll always be so there's really no need for you to be scared"I sighed frustrated without saying anything
Nhla:"Now get off that bed and get ready for the meeting up, I'll wait for you"I smiled faintly
Me:"Fine, I'll do so"i disconnected the call getting off the bed. I walked over to the bathroom and did my hygiene process. I then walked back to my bedroom finding Mapula settled on the bed.
Me:"What's up with you?"I asked him
Mapula:"I'm fine"I can see she's not but she's trying to master her smile. I'll dig whatever that is, she'll eventually talk.
Me:"Oh"I walked to the closet to take some clothes
Mapula:"You gonna wear that?"I turned to her then I shrugged my shoulders
Me:"Ofcorse, what were you thinking?"I asked and she shook her head
Mapula:"It's revealing, you're going to meet your mother-in-law"She says and I darter my eyes on her. What is she trying to say?
Me:"It's not like I don't know her, I'm fine with these"I point it out.
Mapula:"Oh Ngempela?"(really)Her accent was funny. I held myself though
Me:"Yes really"
Mapula:"No"She stood up walking to my closet"Wear this"She threw a long dress on me and gasped looking at her
Me:"I'm not wearing that"I say
Mapula:"Yes you're wearing that, you're meeting up with your mother-in-law so it should show"I kept quiet and took the dress.
Me:"It's not like she'll appreciate my Relationship with his son"I mumbled sliding the dress and I sighed looking at the mirror
Me:"I don't like this"I tell Mapula and she frowned turning to me
Mapula:"Do this Nosi, just for few hours"She muttered and I nod looking at the mirror and for a moment there,I felt out of place
My phone beebed indicating a message,I tossed it over throwing my eyes on the screen 'Come out Sweetheart'I breath out walking out but before I could hold a handle. Mapula called me out
Me:"What?"I turned to her
Mapula:"You forgot this"I looked at her hand and I immediately frowned when I saw a handbag
Me:"No Mapula no"I shook my head looking at her eyes
Mapula:"Yes,Now take we don't want to keep Mr Mhlongo waiting any longer"I sighed taking the bag and I made my way downstairs. There was no one so I just walked out of the house.
"Baby"I whined as soon as I was in his hard arms.
Nhla:"Sweetheart,you look.." I interrupted him
Me:"Ridiculous,I know"I sighed as he took my handbag then he opened the door for me. I climbed out and he walked over to his side and did too.
Nhla:"You don't look ridiculous but you could have worn your usual clothes,my Mom won't have any problem"
Me:"I told Mapula but she was so stubborn to hear me out"I also thought I could impress my mother-in-law
Nhla:"Let's just go,I love you"
Me:"I love you"He immediately pressed the accelerator driving off from the side of the road.

We walked inside the house hand-in-hand with him holding my handbag. My nerves were flowing down my body and when Nipho made the first knock, they became worse.
Nhla:"Relax Sweetheart, everything will be fine"He then, planted a light kiss on my hand. The door was pulled open as we came face-to-face with Mrs Mhlongo. My knees were literally Shaking.
Mrs Mhlongo:"Good Afternoon, you may come in"She was formal and boy,I wanted to die just right there. We made our way inside the house and like always,it is so neat purely white.
Mrs Mhlongo:"Nosibusiso my daughter,how are you?"Nhla let go of my hand
Me:"I'm good Ma"I dropped my eyes to the floor.
Mrs Mhlongo:"Good, Nhlakanipho you may leave us"I immediately looked up to Nipho who had his eyes on me.I thought he'll be there with us
Nhla:"Ouk Mom"He immediately made his way out of our sight
Mrs Mhlongo:"Can we please seat"One of the helpers made their way to us
Her:"Can I get you anything to drink?"
Mrs Mhlongo:"Yes Marie dear,a juice Will be fine"She nods walking away. Mrs Mhlongo looked at me and I quickly looked down avoiding her eyes
Mrs Mhlongo:"Look at me"I slowly looked up
Me:"Ma"I say softly
Mrs Mhlongo:"How are you?How is school?"I looked at her
Me:"I'm fine and school it's Ohk since I'm being homeschooled"I skipped school today, click!
Mrs Mhlongo:"Oh that's good,how is life nje?"Marie walked in with a tray as she handed us the drinks
Mrs Mhlongo:"Thank you Marie"She nods with a smile as she walked away
Me:"Life is good except my things with my Dad"I say shrugging my shoulders
Mrs Mhlongo:"I've heard about what happened,this thing you..you call a relationship with Nhlakanipho"I tensed up
Me:"Ma..."
Mrs Mhlongo:"Listen,I fell inlove with Nhlakanipho's Dad so unexpectedly. He was my best friend then but we fell inlove"She looked at me as she sip her juice
Me:"I know we're...I.. I'm younger than him and everything but Ma I love him"
Mrs Mhlongo:"I know baby,I don't support your Relationship but where there's love there's happiness"She pauses before she could continue "Nhlakanipho is happy lately"My smile widen"He's indeed happy and you're the reason"
Me:"He's the best Ma,I make him happy and he does the same too"I sighed with a frown "I wish everyone could understand our relationship"I say sipping my Juice
Mrs Mhlongo:"Give them time, especially your father"I nod
Me:"I will"
Mrs Mhlongo:"Good,I think you know about Nhlakanipho's situation. Please take care of him"I smiled
Me:"I will Make"I heave a sigh

I was making dinner, today I decided to make things extra special. I was humming a song when MaBontle made her way downstairs. I sighed deeply and annoyed.
Bontle:"Hy"Coldly she says
Me:"Hy"I threw that back to her
Bontle:"Look Nosi,You really should break up with your so called Uncle Because you'll give your Father a high blood"I stopped chopping and looked at her. My father is not suffering from High Blood Pressure so I don't know what's her problem
Me:"Is it?"
Bontle:"Yes,I don't want to loose him so please"I sighed turning to my pots
Me:"Leave me alone please"I plead with her
Bontle:"I didn't want us to end up like this,I wanted to be a better stepmom not like Mine"I stopped chopping once again but I didn't turn
Bontle:"I was emotionally and physically abused by my stepmother,that Because a reason to move from home. Mlungisi was kindly enough to hire me then I fell inlove with him,I really don't want to be like her"She says and I turned to look at her
Me:"You're doing something you're not supposed to do,I don't know if it's completion or you're trying to cause a rift between Dad and I but whatever it is, it's not good"I say
Bontle:"We all know you're not good for Nipho and your father doesn't want your Relationship so I don't know How's that any of my problem. Wena stay away from Nhla then your Relationship with your father will be just fine"She says walking away. I huffed facing my pots. She's starting to annoy the shit out of me and I won't entertain her. My phone rang crawling in my thoughts,I tossed it over accepting the call.
Me:"Nomsa"
Nomsa:"Sis I'm ready, I'll be down to Johannesburg Tommorow Afternoon"
Me:"Oh I..I don't know what to say but I'm glad you're coming"
Nomsa:"I'm nervous though,I hope things will go very well"
Me:"I'll be there for you Nomsa, You're my sister so I'll be there for you"I softly say
Nomsa:"Thank you,I have to go we'll talk"
Me:"Cool,bye"I disconnected the call as I sense someone on my side
Me:"Mapula"
Mapula:"Hey,how did it go?"I looked around the kitchen
Me:"Great,she kinda gave us her blessings"Her smile widen
Mapula:"That's great"
Me:"Yes and Nomsa is coming,my stepsister"She immediately frowned
Mapula:"Ow"I sense a bit of coldness in her voice
Me:"What's wrong Maps?"
Mapula:"N.. Nothing I'll be upstairs"She walked away before I could say anything. I wonder what's wrong with her.
