We stood in the command bay with those who Bellamy and Clarke felt were important to wake up. This included Raven, Abby, Emori, Murphy, Shaw, and Echo. As they starred out at the new planet, Jordan replayed his father's message, the ones I had watched over and over again for years, to the point where I practically had them memorized.
I had asked Jordan to skip the videos of my mom for now as I felt they weren't as important at this moment and I stayed in a far corner of the room, hidden from the group.
"I hope we do better there. I hope your lives there will be as happy as mine has been. Be the good guys. May we meet again." The video ended as everyone repeated the phrase back to the computer screen, some with tears in their eyes, others just shocked at what they had heard.
"I know this is a lot to process," Bellamy said from his spot in the back of the group. "Take an hour and meet in the mess. We need to plan this out."
Clarke stepped to the group, "Guys, we survived. Monty made sure of that." I looked over at Jordan who kept his head down as Clarke spoke of his late father.
Abby sighed to herself. "Now we get our humanity back."
"Some of us never lost it," Raven spat, picking up a backpack and storming out of the room with Shaw close behind.
Murphy turned to look around the room, his eyes were red from the tears he didn't let fall. "Hey, why didn't anyone wake Ari?" he asked causing a ping in my chest.
I wasn't sure if I should reveal myself just yet so I stayed put.
"Uh, that's the next thing we need to talk about," Bell took the lead, crossing his arms over his chest. "Harper and Monty weren't the only ones who were awake on the ship."
Their eyes widened at the news. I felt maybe I could explain the situation a little further so I made my way over to stand beside Bellamy.
"What the hell?" Murphy whispered to himself, looking me up and down.
"Is that..." Echo trailed off not finishing her sentence.
"Guys, this is Charlie... Ari and Calebs, daughter," Bell introduced me.
Murphy shook his head trying to understand everything that was happening. "Wh-what happened to Ari?"
Everyone's eyes were on me now, waiting for me to speak but when I opened my mouth to explain, no sound came out. I had never been in front of this many people before and it was honestly kinda scary, especially since those starring at me were people I had idolized my entire life.
I have dreamed of this moment more time then I could count. I was excited about this, to meet them, so why can't I speak?
Noticing how flustered I was, Bellamy stepped in. "Look, what we understood from the videos she left-"
"Ari left videos too? Can we see them?" Emori asked.
Bell looked over at me, knowing that I didn't want people to see them just yet. "You'll see them soon but from what we could understand from the videos is during Cryo, the pods malfunctioned and Ari's was opened. We don't know why but after she was woken up she wasn't able to put herself back to sleep and after a few months, she realized she was pregnant."
"With Caleb's baby?" Murphy asked. I nodded my head still not trusting my voice. He chuckled slightly, glancing to the side before looking back at me. "You look just like her except,"
"I have my father's eyes," I finished for him. My mother told me this my whole life, every time we would sit and talk or when she would tell me stories of everyone and their adventures. Anytime dad was brought up, she would tell me.
