Madi began to breathe heavily as she woke up. Trying to get out of the restraints, Gaia, Jackson, and Niylah each held her down so she couldn't escape.
"Release me!" Madi yelled as she did everything she could to get out of everyone's grasps.
Raven turned to the flame keeper, "Gaia, what do you want me to do?" she asked.
Gaia had to stop and think for a moment after all this was her whole life, she had dedicated the majority of her living to protect the flame and here Raven is, with the power to destroy it. But of course, the young girl who was about to die was more important to the woman."Kill the son of a bitch."
Turning back to the computer with a slight nod, Raven began typing the kill code. "With pleasure."
Madi continued to struggle. She kicked Niylah away getting her legs free. "Charlie get in here!" Jackson yelled at me. Doing as he asked, I ran right over and grabbed her legs, trying to hold her down as she continued to kick."I will kill you, Seda! I will kill you all! You will all burn!" she yelled in between groans of pain mixed with frustration.
From down in the cafeteria, there were sudden gunshots and people were yelling.
"Out of my way!" a man yelled but the sound of Russell's voice is what scared me the most.
"Where's the child?!" he demanded as he walked up the stairs to look for Madi.
"Raven!" Gaia called out to the girl who was still working away on the computer.
"We're almost there," she assured everyone.
The reassurance didn't last long though as Russell walked right into the room with a group of four guards, all with their guns drawn.
"If anyone moves, shoot them, too," he pulled out the plug that connected the flame to the computer, causing it to lose all the data. "The child comes with me."
He had the guards pull Madi from the table and just left with her.
For a minute we all stood around in shock because what else are we supposed to do?
"What do we do now?" I asked.
"We have to get out of here," Raven said instantly walking down to the main floor to work on the doors. She peeled back a panel and began cutting different wires. It honestly reminded me of Jordan and how he hacked the panel at the castle. I hope he's doing okay. Last I heard he was stabbed so we don't even know if he's dead or alive.
"We need that door open, Raven," Indra said.
Without turning to look back at us Raven nodded slightly, "Working on it. I'm actually annoyed at Eligius' competence right now," she said just before the doors slid open.
"nice job," I complimented.
Raven shook her head, "It wasn't me." That's when a familiar blond walked into the room.
"Clarke, how... how did you..." I began to ask but was cut off.
"Shaw's failsafe code," she refused to make eye contact, focusing her attention on the ground so we couldn't see that she had been crying. "Where's Madi?" she asked Gaia.
We all knew she wouldn't take the news very well since she just lost her mother and Madi is her child but we also knew she would do anything she could to get Madi back.
"Russell... Russell took her." Gaia was the one to break the news to her.
Her eyes instantly began to fill with tears. Oh, no. Oh, no. No, no." Her legs gave out and Niylah had to hold her up.
"We'll get her back," she tried to assure Clarke but it was no use.
"No. You don't understand," she sobbed, "I killed his family, and now he's going to kill mine.
