"Good morning Dad-" I sing cheerfully walking into my dads room. It's been two weeks since game night. As I walked into my dads room he puked all over the floor. His round of chemo was so intense yesterday. He always gets sick the day after chemo. I rushed to the side of his bed and use a roll of paper towels to clean the mess. I don't want him worrying about it or trying to clean it himself."Cam please don't worry about it, I can clean it. I am not paralyzed." My dads tone was apologetic. He hates getting sick in front of me. He thinks it makes him look weak but that is ridiculous. His body is being put through the ringer. I hear the doorbell ring but I am in the middle of something so I don't go answer the door. Whoever is out there can either wait or go away.
"I know you can dad but it's no big deal." I sigh not wanting to argue about it. It is just easier and quicker for me to do it.
"Aren't you going to answer the door?" My dad asks from where he was sitting on his bed.
"As soon as I am done." I nod and finish clorox wiping the hard wood floor. I threw all the paper towels and clorox wipes into the trash can and pulled the bag out of the can.
"I will be right back. Do you need anything?" I ask my dad softly. He shook his head no and laid back down in bed.
I walked into the living room as soon as the front door opened. Walking through my front door was Will.
"I didn't open the door. You just walking into my house now?" I turn away from him walking into the kitchen to throw the small bag into the trash.
"I waited out there for ten minutes." He shrugged following behind me.
"Sorry my dad got sick. Chemo always makes him sick the day after." A frown of sympathy etches itself across his face.
"Is he okay?" He asks sounding genuinely worried.
"Yeah he is just tired."
"I have an adventure for us to do today."
"I can't leave my dad...."
Will turns on his heel and walks towards my dads room.
"Hey Tim I heard you are not feeling good today. What do you think of me taking Cammy here out of your hair so you can rest?" Will crouched down beside my dad who beamed at Will as if he just made him a deal he can't refuse.
"I told you-" I start to answer for myself but my dad cuts me off.
"That sounds lovely. You two have fun." Seriously? My dad is going to take his side? Freaking men. I wanted to argue my point but my dad already doesn't feel good the last thing I want is to make him feel even worse. I pulled his comforter up his body and placed a soft kiss on his forehead.
"I love you, if you need anything please let me know."
"I love you Cam. Go have fun. I will be here when you get back." He smiled up at me weakly.
"I love you dad." I stormed out of his room not caring if Will was behind me or not. Which he was I could hear the clinking of his boots on the hard wood floor behind me.
I yanked open the front door and continued storming down the side walk to where he bike was parked. I climbed on the back of it waiting for him.
"You aren't talking to me now?" He asks but I don't answer. I am annoyed with him. He went above my head to my father who he knew would say yes and he knows that I can't tell my dad no. He used that to his advantage.
"Cammy?" He asks again trying to get me to look at him. Instead I turn my head even further away from him. He sighs before climbing onto the bike. I know I am being immature but I don't care.
