Flashback
"Michael I cant do this!" I cried as I felt another contraction. "You got this baby, you're so strong." He said holding my hand. "Oh my god!" I cried as I got through it. He kept brushing my hair back. He was at one side of me as my mother was on the other. "You're almost there babygirl." She said eager. "I can't do this mom, I can't." I cried. "I want an epidural!" I cried. "Baby we can't, we got here too late." Michael said. "Alright another one is coming. Give us a big push Audrey!" My doctor said. "No!" I cried. Another contraction hit and i had a strong hold on Michaels hand as I pushed. "There we go! Good job baby." Michael cheered. "He's almost here." The nurse said. "Ughhh! Michael, I can't I can't," I cried more. "One more! His head is out!" A nurse yelled as I got another contraction. I gave this push all I had, I felt the relief as he was finally out of me. "He's here!" Michael said with tears. He kissed my head as they laid Jay on me. "You did so good." He said. I laid there trying to catch my breath. I held Jay, as he cried and cried. "My baby." I said crying tears of joy now. "Michael look," I said. "He has black hair." I said.
They cleaned Jay and Michael took his shirt off doing skin to skin with Jay. Michael was a natural. "He's so perfect." Michael said. "Next time, if I'm having contractions, we're coming here sooner." I said. "Hey! I tried. You kept telling me you were fine." He said giggling. "You barely gave me time to even get here. You have to be more careful next time." My mom said. I nodded. I laid there trying to stay awake. "Sleep baby. I got him. The nurses will be in shortly to take him." Michael said kissing my head. I nodded passing out.
Present
Its been a week since I've seen Michael. This is so hard and I can only imagine how challenging this is for him. I miss my family. I've been back at work and have been writing my heart out and it does relieve some of the built up emotions. Will thinks it's some of my best work. "You have a visitor." I heard ally say opening my door. "Mama!" I heard jays little voice. "Hey baby," I said excited. "What are you guys doing here?" I asked my mom. "Well I have to show you something, alright you ready Jay?" She said setting him on his feet. She let go of him and right before my eyes my baby was walking! "Look at my big boy!" I said as he walked to me. I grabbed him, hugging him tight. "Oh my baby, I'm so proud of you." I said. "Dada!" He squealed. "I know you miss daddy." I sighed. "Maybe it's not a bad idea to at least let Michael see him for a little bit." My mom said. I shrugged. "You're right. I'll take him over there tomorrow." I said giving in. It was killing me to be away from him too.
My mom and Jay hung out for a while and Jay was getting so much attention. "So i want you to be the first to know, Wes and I are pregnant." Ally said as it was just her and I. "What?? Really!" I squealed. She nodded as I hugged her. "That's so exciting!" I said. "How far along are you?" I asked. "8 weeks." She smiled. "Oh gosh. I'm so happy for you guys! How did Wes react?" I asked excited for the details. "He freaked out! He cried but he won't admit it." She laughed making me laugh. "I can't wait to be an aunt again," I said. "I'm just happy to be in a happy marriage and have a partner this time." She said. "Was I not enough?" I joked making her laugh. "You were the best," she smiled. "Besides getting beat up by my boyfriend." I said thinking back to that point in my life. She grabbed my hand, "don't start going back there. We're moving forward. That's it." She said. I nodded. "Sorry I just have my moments." I sighed. "But we're doing a gender reveal party!" I squealed. "Whatever you say, I just don't want you to be overwhelmed." She said getting up. "A couple of us are getting together tonight if you want to hang out. You need a girls night." She said. "Where?" I asked. "My house. Movies, snacks, games. You and I can't drink so no alcohol. 6pm. Cam is hanging with Wes for the night." She said. "I'll be there if my mom will watch Jay." "She already said she would. I talked to her earlier." Ally smiled then left.
