Across the bridge. I've never seen any place with so much green. I squinted at the sunlight as it warmed my skin through the window. I looked back at the Isle and the clouds loomed over and all I could selfishly think was, thank you King Ben for not leaving me there.

The limo came to a stop after it turned around a corner.
"You can come out darling, it's alright." A slender hand reached out to us through the opened door. Fairy Godmother stood there with a warm smile. It looked genuine?
"Don't be a scaredy cat now.." Jay said ruffling my hair as he jumped out the car.

Evie and I climbed out waiting for Mal. The three of us girls whispered to ourselves, nerves taking over us.
"My skin. It's wet. I think I'm melting." Mal said pressing her fingers to her forehead. Evie and I examined her and felt our own faces.
"Uh I think you might just be sweating. It's a warm day and you're in long pants and a jacket." A handsome boy said to us.

"Ew." Evie said.
"I'm Ben."
"King Ben!" A preppy girl said popping up next to him.
My arms were crossed over my chest looking at the others waiting for them to say something. I looked at everyone else, dresses, skirts, suits, and ew pastel shorts. Our ragged clothes made us stand out more than our heritage.

My pink and purple stripped full body body suit cling tight to me with my purple booties. I was part cat so balance was never an issue, so i'm the name of fashion, heels were always a good thing.
As well as since my height was not intimidating, the extra boost gave me the confidence I needed to survive on the Isle.

Evies blue hair, Mals purple hair, and my purple and pink stripped hair definitely didn't blend in the pool of blondes.
"Where are we going?" I whispered to Evie as we began to walk towards Auradon prep.
"Fairy Godmother said to the dorms." She said linking her arm with mine.

Being a girl was hard, being a girl on the Isle? A different story. Me, Mal, and Evie stayed together since we could insult, we always protected each other. Then when Jay and Carlos cane into the picture, no one ever tried anything with us.

We followed Fairy Godmother down a corridor with bright wallpaper and carpets the lined all the way down.
"Girls.. this is your room." Fairy Godmother said as a large wooden door swung open. I've never seen a room so big. Three beds at the sides of the room, walk in closet, connected bathroom with a vanity.

I patted down on the freshly washed comforter and my pointed nails scratched at the perfectly made bed. "Do you like it?" Kind Ben said from behind me. His preppy sidekick clung to him as if he were catnip.
"I've never had one before." I said lookinga round the room.
"A walk in closet?" The girl said tilting her head like an idiot.
"A bed." I replied coldly.
The color in King Bens  face washed out and his lip quivered not knowing how to respond. So he just sighed.

After they all left me, Mal and Evie has to look through our new schedule.
"Goodness class?" Mal said in disgust.
"What makes them think we need that?" I said and we all chuckled.
We didn't know what to do with ourselves. We didn't know this place, we didn't know these people.

Then there was a knock at the door some time later. It was Jay and Carlos with a lanky little boy. "Who's this?" Evie said standing up defensively.
"Doug." Carlos said with candy in his mouth.
"I'm uh Dopeys son." He said holding his hand out.
The three of us looked at each other with furrowed eyebrows, unaware of what to do with this gesture.
"Get this.." Jay said, "you shake it."

Evie took his hand and curtsied and Mal just did a sideways high five. Then when Doug turned to me I uncrossed my arms and as gently as I could shook his hand side to side.
"Good girl." Carlos said to me and I snarled at him baring my fangs.
"Woah woah." Doug said jumping back a little, then laughing nervously.
Everyone erupted in laughter at his reaction.
"What? Don't like them?" I said running my tongue over my two fangs.

"No no. I love them!" He said still nervous. "Not love them but they uh they look very nice." He said bowing a big.
"Easy big fella." Jay said patting him on the back. "She's taken. Oh wait!" he said teasing and pointing back at me. "Never mind pal, go for it." I hissed at Jay as he chuckled and Mal and Evie rolled their eyes.
Doug's cheeks flushed red and he refused to make eye contact.
"Any who, it's um time for dinner. This way to the dining hall." Doug said ushering is down the hall.

We walked trough two massive wooden doors to a room with long tables and on the tables were plates, and utensils and napkins. Ben came up to us.
"Follow me." He said. As we walked the line heads turned and sympathetic smiles flashed at us which we didn't need.
We sat at a table and butlers placed plates in front of us.
"What is this?" I hissed at Mal. She shrugged her shoulders as she poked the contents on her plate.

We sat there in silence only stealing glances at each other.
"So. How are you all settling in?" Ben asked us.
We all looked at each other waiting to see who would speak first.
"Fine." Mal spoke up and we all nodded.
"Good. Very good." Ben said taking a bite.

After a very awkward dinner we went back to our new bedroom. Mal closed the door and locked it. I opened the window and started to climb out.
"Kitty.." Evie said with pity. "Are you sure?"
"I just want to check." I said moving my head out the window.
"Well, be careful." She said
"I have nine lives, I should be fine." I said winking at her.

I clawed my way up the dorm room buildings. My clawed nails stuck into the bricks as I hauled myself up. Moving past the windows the moon was full and she told me to keep going, to keep fighting. And I listened. Up at the top of the building I pulled myself over the edge. I looked north to the Ilse.

"Come on." I whispered to myself.
"Show me."
I sat there and I waited. I waited for the lighthouse to shine. A sign he was there. I sat at the edge of the rooftop and looked at the gapping distance between Auradon and the Isle.
I had a late night conversation with the moon. She told me about the sun and I told her about you.
