Harry's POV
It's been nearly 36 hours since Kitty left. I didn't mean to start with Cherry. Well, that's a lie, I did just to fill the void of her leaving. I knew the consequences of her going would out weigh the pain she caused when she left, but I'm selfish and impatient.I sat in the chip shoppe waiting for Uma so I can give her the money from our runs in town today. I sat at the bar biting my nails and tapping my foot. I've been back to the lighthouse trying to fix the bulb, but resources were scarce here, and I haven't found one that works yet.
"You got the money?" Uma said sliding a tray to a customer and walking toward me. I slammed it on the table and pushed it towards her. She flipped through the bills and gave me my cut. I got up to leave avoiding the awkward conversation when she caught me.
"You done mopping around yet?" She asked.
"Nope." I said.
"Get back here." I huffed loudly and back tracked to the bar.She poured me a drink as I sat back down.
"Save it Uma." I said taking a sip. "I feel shit enough."
"I'm sure you do." She said placing her hands on the bar and looking up at me.
"She was our ticket! She was going to get us over there and now! Ugh, ruined!" She said slamming her fists on the counter.I bit my tongue, knowing better than to raise my voice, but I started to boil inside. I was becoming rage, I was becoming evil. It was eating me alive, it burned my skin, it swarmed my thoughts, and I had this pain in my chest and churning in my stomach. I couldn't get over that I had hurt her, when I said I wouldn't.
Uma kept going on and on about her loss of opportunity to get to Auradon and I had enough.
"Quite!" I screamed. "What you loss? Yeh!! What about what I lost! What about what was taken from me!" I said slamming my fist on the tables.
"You made your bed Harry, you had a choice!"
"You should have seen her face, Uma." I said softly, and her jagged features soften."This isn't about getting to Auradon or revenge, it's about what I've done. What I can't get back." I said shaking my head.
"I saw it too." She said bowing her head.
"We promised her! We promised her we wouldn't do that to her! That she was safe with us! That we would be family! Protect each other!" She said tearing up. "You have to fix this."I looked at her puzzled and confused. How the hell would we get to Auradon? It's not like she was coming back here anytime soon. You don't just leave Auradon for the Isle.
I pushed the stool in and left the chip shoppe ignoring Umas demands.I head down the dock by the lighthouse. I carried the light bulbs I picked up through the day to give them a shot. I climbed up to the top and looked across the water to the kingdoms. I unscrewed the lightbulb and tossed it to the side. Placing the new one in and asking anyone out there willing to listen to make it shine.
The bulb flickered. It was dull, but it was shinning. I ran to the edge of the lighthouse.
"Come on love. Look for me. See me!"
And my dreams shattered as the lightbulb dimmed out.
"No no no. No! God damnit! I yelled kicking the side. I slid down the wall of the lighthouse and ran my fingers through my hair and pulled at the roots.I gotta get over there. How? No bloody idea. But I need too. I need to just talk to her. I need to tell her I'm sorry. I was just in pain. I never meant to hurt her. I never meant to ruin us.
This weight in my chest, it's getting harder to breathe. I want to tell her that I talk about her like she put the air in my lungs, but that's because she has been the only person who has made me want to. And without her I can't fucking breathe.
I began to start plotting on how I'd get over there. Not even through but just over. I could have Uma swim me over, I could appeal to Ben, ahhh ha! Message in a bottle.
I ran down from the lighthouse to Kitty's old loft.
"Hey Harry!" Gil said as I fast walked through the alleys.
"Come with me mate." I said pulling him by his thick shoulders.
"Woah! Where we goin?"
"Just keep up." I said to him pushing past bystanders. We arrived at the loft and I threw a rock at the
"Beware of flying rocks" sign, and the gate opened.
"This Kitty's place?" He asked putting the pieces together.
"Yeah." I said climbing up the stairs. I moved the mat by the door over and took the spare key to unlock the door.I walked through and it looked just like before she left. Bed was a mess, scratches on the walls, makeup on the counters, and spray painted walls. Some spare clothes left hanging in a small closet and I just moved to them without thinking.
They still smelled like her and strands of colored hair stuck to them."What exactly are we doing here?" Gil asked coming from the kitchen.
"I need paper and a pen. And an empty bottle."
"Mm. Couldn't you just get that from a vendor?"
"Shut it!" I snapped, embarrassed by the fact that I just wanted an excuse to come here."You really messed up." Gil said nonchalantly.
"Thank yeh, Captain obvious!"
"Mm. Captain. I like the sound of that!"
"Don't flatter yourself mate."I ripped out a piece of paper from Evies old sketchbook and took a blue colored pen. I opened a bottle from the fridge and poured the contents out the window.
I sat on Kittys bed as Gil just roamed around, touching everything.I just began to write. Everything was all over the place but I couldn't get the thoughts on paper fast enough. My handwriting was sloppy and a more than a few words were definitely misspelled. I laid back on the pillow writing against my legs and her sweet scent just overwhelmed me.
The window by her bed was cracked open and the satin sheets flowed with the wind. I used to sneak in through this window and we would climb to the roof. Talk about the day we'd live in Auradon, I always promised her a castle with fuzzy rugs and a ship. A big ole ship and she would be my first mate, and we could sail away whenever she wanted too. We would sit there and smoke cigarettes at 5 in the morning.
"Let's go." I said to Gil who was sat in a spinning chair.
We left the loft and I kept the spare key. I loved it through the chain around my neck and let it fall against my stone heart.Gil and I reached the docks once again and I placed the note inside the bottle and capped it up. I pressed the bottle to my lips and just asked for it to reach her. I placed the bottle in the water and let the current take it away. I sat there watching it float to Auradon.
Please. Please. I begged.
