It was Friday. The tourney game was tonight and then Adrian said something about a gazebo by the Enchanted Lake.

I headed out the dorm room door with Mal and a Evie and they would not stop integrating me.
"Me? What about you two?" I said.
"Us?! What do you mean us?" Mal gasped.
"You missy with future King of Auradon. And you!" I said pointing to Evie. "With your little minor."
They both scoffed and avoided any further explaination.
"Oh come on! The tension is there I can scratch right through it."
"Well, I can tell you're not lying." Mal said pursing her lips and breaking into a smile.

We continued to tease each other as we made our way to the tourney field. We sat in an empty aisle of the bleachers when Doug came up to us in his band uniform with a big drum strapped to his stomach.
"Hey Evie!" He called.
Mal and I just giggled to each other as Evie started to blush. Ah, so this is why they do it to me! This is funny.

"Yes?" She asked.
"Oh. Hi." He just said and she waved shyly as he stood with the rest of the band.
"Ha! Of course she's a cheerleader."
Evie and I looked confused at Mal.
She pointed over to that preppy girl that I was cursed to meet on the first day.
"Typical." Evie said rolling her eyes.
"Audrey. Princess Adurdey. Daughter of Sleeping Beauty and Phillip."
"Oh shit!" I said putting the pieces together and laughing.

Mal elbowed me in the ribs and people started to stare but my evilness! The irony was too much.
"That would be like me fighting over Adrian with Alice's daughter!" I said laughing.
"I'll get the spray bottle." Mal said smiling to me and I hissed at her.

Evie then elbowed me in my other ribs and I flinched.
"Gosh! You guys are going to crack my ribs on day I-" She nodded over to Adrian coming out of the lockerroom in his tourney uniform with Jay and Carlos. He looked back and waved to me. I waved back and felt flutters in my stomach.

The game started and the announcer was going crazy over how well Jay was playing.
"Woo! Go Jay!"

Mal, Evie, and I were nearly the only ones cheering for Jay as he scraped the other team.
Coming up to a cluster of opponents Jay passed the ball to Ben and he shot and scored. The crowed went wild chanting Bens name.

"An amazing shot from Ben with an incredibly selfless pass from Jay!" The announcer shouted.
Carlos however, didn't leave the bench much as he waited for some play time.
"Yaya! Carlos!" We shouted.

His little blonde head turned around giving his a thumbs up. Our little pup.
Carlos and I have always been close, disputed the dogs vs cats theory, we compliment each other well. Not to mention his tremendous loyalty and calming tenderness that would pull me out of my own destructive habits.
Since we were little Carlos was just always there. Both of us being smaller than most others, gave us a unique bonding.

My earliest memories go back to Carlos. We had a mutual understanding with each other. He knew when to speak and when to just sit with me. It's like we just knew. He probably knew more of my secrets than Mal and Evie. Although his hands were stained like mine, I trusted them completely. That's why I swore to not leave the Isle without him, and I made myself perfectly clear to the court, when they had only picked four.

He's my big brother.

They all were my family. I wouldn't have come here without any of them.
I couldn't push my luck with the court by telling them I wouldn't go without Uma, Harry, and Gil, but Uma assured me that if this went well, and I stuck to the plan, they'd be here soon.
But I've been having my second guesses on that side of the family.

The game ended and Auradon did reign supreme as Jay promised.

"Yay! Good job you guys!" Evie said as Jay and Carlos cane up to us.
We stood there and chatted when I was tapped on the shoulder.
Adrian stood behind me, wet hair slapped on his forehead and a big goofy grin slapped on his face.
"You have her back by 8!" Jay demanded.
"No 7:59 not 8:01. 8:00!" Carlos said.
"Yes sir!" Adrian said laughing along with the rest of us.

"Forgive their protectiveness." I told Adrian and we walked away from the field. "Big brother type stuff." I said shrugging. "Ah trust me. I get it. When my little sister goes on her first date, better believe that boy will meet Rajah." He said.

We walked to the gazebo and the sun started to set. The Enchanted Lake glistening with the leftover light. So many flowers everywhere, I've never seen this much color before.
"Do they sing to you?" I asked petting the flowers. "They sing in Wonderland you know?"
"Really? What do they sing?"
"Sometimes the insult you." I said.

"This bunch reminds me of you." He said directing my attention to the left. An array of pink and purple bunches. I looked in awe as some of them were merged together. Purple and pink colored pedals.

We sat in the grass and it tickled my skin but I liked it.
"I like the grass!" I said laying down in it.
"I like how you get a kick out of nature."
"Technically I'm an outdoor cat." I teased.

"What's that?" Adrian questioned. Pointing to the lake.
I squinted trying to see what he was talking about. I got up and followed him to the edge of the lake.
"I don't see anything?" I questioned looking for something.
"There! Right there! You see it?"
"No I don't see any-" I was cutoff when I was submerged in water. I broke the surface and gasped for air.

Adrian clutched his stomach and was laughing so hard no noise cane out.
"You tricked me!" I said hitting my hands in the water.
"I'm sorry! I-I-I had to!" He said in between gasps of air.
"Well help me out!" I said cutting through the water back to the edge.

He held his hand out and I reached for his and pulled him in. He slapshed in and I blocked the aftermath from my face.
"You tricked me!" He said bobbing out from under the water.
"I had to!" I mocked.

We splashed in the water and floated around.
"I thought cats didn't like water?"
"I am a special breed." I said.
"Yes you are. Very special." He said.

The sun was getting low. Real low.
We climbed out of the water and I shook the excess water off of me.
"How bad is my hair?" I joked knowing the curls have been unleashed.
"Better than mine I'm assuming." He said shaking his hair.

We walked back to the dorms with stares along the way due to our dripping.
"Thank you." I said turning to him at the front door. "I had a really nice time."
"Me too." He said smiling.
"I'll see you at breakfast tomorrow?" He asked.

I was distracted by the Isle. The west side. Something was there. It was dull. It couldn't be the lighthouse I was sure of that. But it was the same spot. It was our spot.
"What are you looking at?" Adrian asked turning around.
I snapped out of it and turned him back to me.
"Nothing!" I said. "Nothing. I thought I saw a light and cats get distracted by the shiny stuff!" I lied laughing nervously. "But yes! I will see you at breakfast tomorrow."
"Okay." He said smiling again. "Can't wait." He said walking backwards down the steps.

"Bye." I said waving to him.
"Bye." He said.

I ran up to the dorm to get to the roof.
"Why are you all wet?" Evie said as I dripped on the carpet.
"Are you okay?!" Mal asked as I opened the window.
I went to climb out the window when Mal grabbed my arm. "What?!" I snapped, eyes changing color and all. My impatience was growing. I had to know.
"We have to show you something." Mal said.
"Can't it wait! I have to see something. I swear the lighthouse light was on and I saw it I just need some height!"

"It's on." Evie said from behind Mal.
"You know this for sure? I have to see!"
"No Kit." Mal said. "You need to see this." She said turning to Evie.

From behind her back she revealed a bottle. A bottle from the Isle.
"It's a letter." Mal said as I climbed out the window.

"It's a message in a bottle." I whispered.
