Chapter 2

Present Time...

Kathy is laying in her queen size bed hugging an old stuff animal Nathan had gotten her when they went to the carnival one year. She signs deeply and lets the tears continue to flow out of her swollen red eyes. An alert from her phone telling her she has a text message startles her and she looks at the blurry screen.

Hey Kat, R U OKAY? - Robyn

Kathy half smiles thinking about her warm hearted best friend and how she's always there. Quickly responding Kathy dries her tears and sits up.

I've been better....-Kat

Want 2 talk about it? -Robyn

Not ready yet.-Kat

4 Years Ago...

"Happy birthday!" Nathan yells over the huge crowd of kids as Kathy walks into school wearing dark skinny jeans, brown leather boots, white blouse, black leather jacket, and a scarf tied around her neck. Nathan stood in awe of his beautiful girlfriend to him she wasn't just pretty because of the way she looks on the outside but because he knew her caring heart.

"Thank you." Wrapping her boyfriend in a hug Kathy breaths in his intoxicating scent that she loves and smiles. Admiring her boyfriend she see's him in his casual dark jeans, black t-shirt, and converse without a jacket as if it wasn't 40 degrees outside.

When Nathan releases her the bell rings and see's Kathy pout knowing they have different first periods. "Come on kitty Kat I'll walk you to class." Nathan tells her using the nickname only he called her by.

Later that day...

"Baby will you come with me I have a surprise." Nathan tugs on on of Kathy's black curls.

"Oh what is it?" Kathy looks up at Nathan expectantly her bright blue eyes sparkling.

"Come with me." He quickly intertwines their hands and leads her to the end of the hall where he blind folds her.

"Where are we going?" Kathy asks puzzled. "This isn't the part where you leave me stranded somewhere and someone comes and kills me right?" Kathy jokes and hears Nathan chuckle. When she doesn't get an answer she speaks up in her little baby voice knowing Nathan can't resist it. "Baby please tell me."

Thankful that her blindfolded her or he would give into her mesmerizing puppy dog eyes and pout Nathan continues to walk and all he says to her is, "Patients my love we will be there soon enough."

"And where exactly is there?"

"Babe it's a surprise can't you wait?"

"Nope, please baby tell me just a hint?" She begs again but this time adds the pout.

Nathan looks at her lips and gives her a quick kiss. "We're going up some stairs be careful."
